DESCRIPTION

Welcome to a very special month, everyone!

A Mirror's Curse has always been a very personal project, as you can probably tell. On the surface, it's just another game about a boy becoming a girl. But really, it's a story about figuring yourself out little by little.

Ethan doesn't have all the answers. He is still confused sometimes, he overthinks things, he gets scared, he doesn't know who he truly is. He takes steps forwards, then wonders what those steps even mean. But he is also slowly becoming more comfortable with himself, making genuine connections with people who bring out different sides of him, and learning that change does not always have to be something frightening.

Okay, here's a picture of the Pridethan wallpaper I made to keep you guys engaged. I know it's not very good, please excuse my poor Photoshop skills.

Got it? Love it? Okay, let's continue.

I've gotten a ton of messages since the game first started back in September. What I've realized is that many people have connected with Ethan's journey in some shape or form. Its impact on some has been small, with the game just being a fun story. But for others, it's genuinely done a ton. It's given people comfort, it's made people realize something about themselves, and it's made people happy to see him (her?) becoming more confident over time.

Boo! Another picture, this time with a different combination of flags to stop you all from clicking off.

Okay, focus again. Well, I think there's something special about watching Ethan find people who make him feel more like himself. Luke being there no matter what, as his best friend. Samantha caring deeply despite what she lets on. Jessica encouraging him to try things he never would've tried before. Vincent making him feel understood in quieter ways, even when he struggles to find the right words. Jordan showing Ethan that there is nothing wrong with wanting something that doesn't fit the version of him that other people expect. Aurora pushing him to be more honest with himself, as she works toward doing the same.

At the end of the day, I believe life is all about the connections we make. The bonds we form with the other people living on this lonely planet.

Welp, let's get back to celebrating.

Thank you all for supporting the game! It's great to see that this story has become something meaningful to so many people. Have a wonderful Pride Month, Meerkats.

Much love,

amaty
