i recently saw the minecraft movie and i've gotta say, i loved it. there are many criticisms i have for the movie, like how the women didn't get much screentime, or how i felt that jason momoa had more focus at times than the actual kid protagonist. the movie obviously was catered towards children, which makes sense, but i still found myself smiling through a lot of it. maybe it's nostalgia, or maybe i'm just tired and wanted something simple and bright. either way, it reminded me how much i miss letting myself enjoy things without overthinking them.

minecraft itself holds such a weird, tender place in my heart. something about wandering through a silly blocky world with no goal, echoey soundtrack by c418 playing in the background. it always hits me right in the chest, especially when i’m playing alone. there’s this quiet kind of loneliness to it, but also peace. every time that music starts, i feel 15 again, sitting in front of a screen after school, forgetting about everything else. what gives you that feeling?
