I’m about to commission another batch of character poses from Ruben and had an idea that is either great or stupid, possibly both…community pose vote.
In the comments of this post, suggest a pose for my YouTube persona that you’d like to see added to my list! The top liked pose will (within reason) actually get commissioned and used in future videos!
To keep things somewhat on the rails, here are a few general guidelines as to what I’m looking for and what makes a good pose for my uses.
Pose must generally fit the size and format of the existing ones, so I can use it without it looking out of place. That means a torso-up shot designed for the right side of the screen.
Nothing too complex. Weird and detailed concepts are fine, but Ruben does have to draw this and I don’t want to make it hard on him. Ideally suggestions aren’t so wild that it becomes difficult.
Perhaps most importantly, try to suggest things that have a variety of uses and aren’t too niche. Ideally, even the weird poses can be put onto lines in a few different situations. Take the detached head one for example. It’s specific, but I can use it for clone/robot jokes, psychic power lines, head or brain puns, etc. As funny as a “Sir_Superhero mentions Al Ewing” joke pose would be, I do want them to be versatile. As a good general rule, try to think of the actual lines/jokes/comments I could use the pose for before suggesting.
Now, since I am paying for this, I do reserve the right to veto the top liked one and go down the list at my discretion. If the top liked suggestion doesn’t fit the above criteria or is just something I’d legitimately never use in videos, that winning would suck for everyone since you’d rarely see it.
Submissions will be open until the next video releases on here, so basically as long as this post is at the top of the page. Once submissions close I’ll announce the winner and get Ruben working!
