[Comunicado Oficial] Player Manager extends contract with Podium Entertainment, here we go! Books 7-9 CONFIRMED. Audiobooks a major factor in decision. Ted Steel to remain as interim author.
Hi, everyone!
Top news! Podium have decided to publish the next three books in the series, which means there will be at least three more audiobooks. We finally get to hear if Luke R. Francis can do a Texan accent...
This is obviously good news for me and my ego and it will help to bring more readers to the story because they won't have to skip around platforms looking for their next fix. (I saw a comment from a guy the other day saying he wouldn't start the story because only 6 books were available. It's a strange niche!)
This deal does mean that sometimes I will have to stop writing the next chapter to help get the manuscripts ready, to check Podium's edits, and things like that. It means every now and then I'll need to take a day out of the schedule to do this admin. Soz. If it helps, it's really not fun for me.
Today's tier 3 chapter is going to be short (by PM/SS standards) - I wanted to roll into the match action but I don't have time. The next one is likely to be short, too. (It was intended to be half of this one.) Hopefully there won't be too much disruption but I hope you can bear with me while I'm juggling the various requirements.
Oh, and because I'm insane and because I had started to prepare book 7 for self-publishing (shout-out to the Discord team who helped me with the editing!) I've decided that I'm going to get ahead of the game and start work on self-publishing the Soccer Supremo series. Including the audiobooks! I've never done that before but I think it's just a question of finding an audio engineer who can turn the raw audio into ACX-approved files.
How is it going to work when there are 9 finished books in Player Manager, a 5-book gap, and then the continuation series?
I have no clue! But I'm going to do it anyway! (Also, some people are supporting me on Patreon because they want more audiobooks, so it feels right to actually use their money as intended, plus who knows if Luke will be available a year from now, or if I'll have the financial capacity to pay him? I'll get them made and worry about pesky details later.)
[Please note that I'll be using the same title to make this announcement on Reddit. My wife says I should drop the 'interim author' part because it's confusing. I pushed back saying it's funny. Let me know who's right - as long as it's me.]
Okay, that's it! I'm going to finish today's chapter. Bye.
