Here are the WIP shots for Roza's latest pinup, Ice Queen.
This one actually took me a very long time to get done, considering it's a pretty simple pose. It started out as just something fun. A simple practice sketch and a good excuse to draw Roza again. I'd intended to work through this one pretty quickly and loosen up my style. But my hangups for detail got the better of me, and it turned into a fully rendered pic.
Originally, I'd wanted to make this another biker pinup, and have Roza pulling her glove off with her teeth, like that silly Dr House pic. Though I figured maybe a different theme would be best, as I have more Roza biker pics planned soon this year, and getting her hand right, pulling her glove off with her teeth, was quite hard to nail down, and I couldn't quite get it correct.
The background was pretty tricky to get the colours right, even with those refs, as usually stadiums have very sharp lighting, whilst also being quite dark places. Perspective-wise, I am sure there are tonnes of issues here, but as of yet, I can't see them and didn't use a perspective grid for it. Rendering Roza was pretty easy, just time-consuming. I really wanted to get a good mix of fur/skin, skin, almost like a peach fuzzy look. Though next time I might have to experiment with opposing colours, as my work tends to be somewhat monotone overall.
Not done a wip shot in a while, as usually I am more focused on just getting the work done and forget to save shots as I go, so apologies for the lack of these lately.
