HELLO, dear cherished bros! Today we have another joyous occasion to celebrate: we’ve all made it to another Monday and gathered around for another one of Akabur’s Monday Posts! ^_^
THE SHOP. Let’s get this out of the way from the get-go: a new item in the shop! Herbology 101, another old illustration of mine. This particular pack contains everything you could possibly expect: a high-resolution JPEG, the pencil scan, the inked version, and even the original PSD. ^_^
DUMB THING #1. Rare is releasing a weird console-like thingy, but from what I understand, you can only play the games that come with it — and they’re all by Rare. This looks like something you’d find on Temu. And it’s probably going to sell well… Modern nerds will literally buy any nonsense as long as it’s “official.” -_-
DUMB THING #2. Instead of re-releasing an actual Game Boy (or Game Boy Advance or DS), Nintendo has announced this weird-ass toy… All it does is play music from cartridges, and each cartridge contains only one track. This is so dumb… I don’t know what the price of this thing is, but even if it’s five bucks, it’s still too much.
BUTT! Several months ago, I finished Luminous Arc 1. It was OK, but the ending disappointed me (I didn’t meet the requirements to unlock any of the romantic endings). Last week, I started the second game — unfortunately, the story is pretty bad in this one. I own the Luminous Arc 2 artbook, and some of the illustrations show the heroines in wedding dresses. I assumed they were for romance endings. Nope — they wear them for a dumb “Engage” attack move during battle. But you can romance the main villainess, and since her half-naked butt dominates all the promo art, I’m determined to power through the lame story.
AI SLOP #1. Welcome to the obligatory AI slop section. This week’s creation was yet again submitted by MrLazare. Personally, I thought it was very funny — especially the part with Ashelin and Lara actually holding signs for each other’s games. Clever :)
AI SLOP #2. Continuing the AI slop section — another MrLazare submission. Seeing Lola sprites in “3D” like that is really mind-blowing to me. You can’t see it here, but the original pictures are VERY high resolution. You can find all the files from the AI slop section in their original resolution in the attachment to this post. Go check it out :)
COOL THING. There’s this website that lets you quickly create pixelated versions of any pictures you want. It sounds a bit lame, but it actually delivers pretty cool results. You can even apply filters like CRT scanlines and such. You can check it out here: https://pixel-converter.ameniwa.com/
THE WORK. As for Reporter Trainer progress, this week was mostly spent working on art assets for the Skater Girl storyline. Yes, I know you're tired of hearing about her by now, but since she's a side character, once I'm done with her events you won't hear about her again until you actually meet her in the story :)AND THAT’S THAT. February flew by in an instant, and it’s March already. Wow. I really have nothing to add. I’ll see you all next week. Oh, and I decided to do an EXTRA!! post this week — go check it out for a few extra goodies. Laterz.
