HELLO and welcome to another Monday Post. Thank you for taking the time to check in on me and on the development progress of my current project, Reporter Trainer. Another week, another batch of game development adventures. Let's do this thing!
SHOP/GALLERY! This week's new item is the "Happy Birthday 3" illustration. A pretty detailed and well-drawn piece (if I can say so myself), but unfortunately all of the WIP materials for it have been lost. No pencil scans, no PSDs, just a single JPEG file. At least it's in high resolution. ^^
NEW XENOBLADE GAME. A new Xenoblade game was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct. I loved the first two games, but the third one felt way too corporate to me. Way too safe and careful. And this new one seems to be even worse (IMHO). The sad thing is that I probably would have given it a try anyway, since it appears to be set in a military academy (I love that shit). But for some reason they decided to make the main character a girl, and that killed my interest right away.
NEW FIRE EMBLEM was announced as well. I must say, I am happy Nintendo is still making games, unlike PlayStation and Xbox, but I wish they would stop trying to cater to everyone at the same time. This one has four freaking main characters. Four. That immediately killed any interest I had in it. Then again, I stopped caring after Three Houses, so I'm clearly not the target audience anymore anyway. -_-
NEW KINGDOM HEARTS. Oh, and there was a trailer for a new Final Fantasy remake. Or was it a new Kingdom Hearts game? Or maybe a new Yakuza game? Who can really tell these days? In short: more realism slop. Moving on.
PERSONA 4. I stumbled across a few posts featuring the new P4 portraits, and they look almost indistinguishable from the originals. The original portraits still look better to me, but putting that aside, what was the point of redrawing them in the first place? This feels like some kind of weird tax write-off or money laundering scheme. -_-
GAMES. I continue to play Luminous Arc 3. It's one of those rare games where I genuinely enjoy both the story and the battle sequences. I'm about 45 hours into the game. I have no idea whether I'm close to the end or not, but I'm not complaining since the journey has been a lot of fun. This was a busy week, so I didn't have a chance to play anything else.
IT'S HERE! A few days ago, I received my copy of SSX 3! Let me remind you that it cost only 2 bucks! (+ shipping) Most of the other items that seller had listed were articles of women's clothing, so I'm assuming the account belonged to some lady. Honestly, I felt like I was ripping her off with that ridiculous price tag. I even tried offering 5 bucks instead, but the app only allowed me to make offers that were lower than the original asking price. Anyway, the game has found a new home where it will be cherished and well taken care of. I am happy. ^_^
AND ANOTHER ONE! Yesterday I received my second purchase: Final Fantasy Type-0. It was purchased from a proper game store account that had plenty of other games for sale, but even so, this was still a ridiculously cheap find ($4 + shipping). It's a Japanese import in very good condition, complete with a colorful manual and everything. ^_^
WORK. Last week I finally finished Kimmy's main story events. The original plan was to work on Tiffany's scenes next, but I decided to continue with the main story instead. In the next main story event, the network higher-ups send an investigator to check on how things are being run at the channel. The investigator is this boss-lady-bitch type of character, and since I didn't have a sprite for her yet, that's what I spent most of my time working on after finishing the Kimmy stuff.
AND THAT'S IT for this week's Monday Post. Thank you for your support and patience. I will see you all next Monday. Laterz. ^_^-Aka-
