The Dollhouse
DESCRIPTION

Little Samantha, or Sammy as everyone called her grew up never having a dollhouse because her parents just couldn't afford it. When she want to college she was roommates with Alicia, who actually brought a dollhouse from home. Sammy tried to explain her situation, and Alicia assured her that they were wonderful as she was setting it up in their dorm room.

Even thought it was Alicia's dollhouse, Sammy caught the brunt of the blame and jokes about the dollhouse, because of her stature and demeanor Many people had just made the assumption it was hers.

Sammy felt shame because of the jokes, but also because she liked having the dollhouse there. It gave her the childhood she felt she missed out on.

She asked Alicia to help her though, the dollhouse looked expensive and she didn't want to break it. Alicia decided to have a little fun with her though. She had her dress up in a dolls outfit and sat her down at a table that looked like it belongs in the house.

“First,” Alicia said, “We're going to have some tea. Could you please pour some for us?”

Sammy looked at her dress, and she made Alicia promise to not take pictures or show anyone. If Sammy thought she was getting picked on before, she was never ever going to live this down. She poured the tea into a tiny little teacup for her roommate.

Alicia drank it down quickly and set the cup down. “Now,” she said with a malicious little grin, “Aren't you going to offer me some more?”

“Of Course.” Sammy said and reached over to pour another cup of tea, but noticed she had to stretch a bit further.

Alicia tipped it down with one gulp and set the cup down again, this time not saying anything, just motioning that she'd like another cup.

Sammy tried to pour it again, but found the cup out of reach and had to stand up to pour, the teapot feeling quite a bit heavier than before. She also noticed that when she sat down she had to hop up into the chair. Her feet dangling when she finally got settled.

But as soon as she got settled, Alicia was already motioning for more. This time Sammy stood up in the chair and she really had to reeeeeaaaach out and pour.

When she sat down to drink her tea, her cup looked like a mixing bowl in her hands. “I don't understand,” Sammy said, “what does this have to do with playing with a dollhouse?”

Alicia practically choked on her tea. “Oh my god!” she gasped. “I thought you said, 'What's it like to be a doll?' Oh Sammy, you are in for a BIG adventure.”
