Question: How did Lime and Scribbles meet/become friends?
The two met in their early days at the company.
Lime, newly hired as a junior underwriter in a fairly large insurance company, met Scribs, the senior underwriter. Scribs took Lime under their wing, teaching her the ropes.
At first, Scribs was indifferent towards Lime, the mare lacked kindness and showed little concern for her coworker. However, recognizing the office's need for more workers, Scribs did her best in teaching Lime everything she knew.
Scribble Snug, despite being a changeling, had a deep affection for ponies but kept her distance due to her past history, becoming hostile if anypony got too curious about her. While she grew lonely in her self-imposed isolation, she felt it was worth it for the new life she had chosen.
However, Lime remained unfazed by Scribs hostility, brushing off her remarks and continuing to stand by her. Initially, Scribs grew paranoid and apprehensive, but her innate abilities as a changeling allowed her to sense that Lime's intentions were not malicious, turning her concern into curiosity over time.
Golden Key Lime highly respected Scribble Snug because she went out of her way to teach Lime everything she knew and answered all the questions Lime asked, even when Scribs had no real reason to be so thorough in her mentorship. Appreciating Scribs as a fine mentor and respectful co-worker, Lime grew fairly fond and attached to Scribs throughout her career.

Over the years Lime naturally sought Scribs out as a friend outside of work, as she saw through the tough exterior and noticed Scribble’s soft and caring nature. With an optimistic, driven, and infectiously supportive personality, Lime not only excelled in handling ponies but also upheld impressive standards in keeping her professional and personal life separate.
Thanks to Lime's efforts, Scribble Snug comfortably maintained a stable relationship with Lime, both in her professional and personal life. Lime quickly became Scribs' very first friend.— her very first pony friend outside of work and Lime had somepony to lean on and be vouched by at work.
2018-05 | Scribs accidentally calls Lime 'miss' outside of work out of habit from work.
Their bond is undeniably strong, each considering the other their best friend. Even as Scribs transitions to becoming Lime’s secretary, despite the growing differences in authority, their personal relationship remains unchanged. They continue to treat each other with the same warmth and familiarity outside of work as they did back in their early days.
However, due to Scribs instinctual nature as a changeling, serving a higher authority, she does occasionally slip up, using unnecessary formalities and showing too much respect for her friend. Lime doesn't mind too much when Scribs slips up and while she does like being praised, Lime does feel uneasy when it happens for a bit too long.

This was the original plot I’ve had in mind since the start. But there have been a few minor changes over the years. For the ones who are curious, I have written down the major differences between the old and current story
Lime was originally going to be a lawyer for the company.
Scribble Snug was originally going to be a newly hired alongside Lime.
Lime was supposed to discover Scrib's true identity during the early stages.
Please note, not everything is set in stone, changes might happen in the future but till then, this is the current story for my characters.

What is an Underwriter?Someone who assesses insurance applications to decide if coverage should be approved or denied based on risk factors like health and past claims.
When does Lime discover Scribs true form?Lime discovers Scribs true form very late into their friendship. I didn't include it here because it wasn't meant for this scene. This scene focuses solely on how they met and how they became friends, not what happened afterwards.
Scribble Snug is a changeling?Yes. Scrib's has always been a changeling. Her true name is Flicker.
Is this the same Insurance Company Lime later becomes a CEO of?No… Yes. It’s complicated. If enough people become interested, I will make a separate post on how Lime climbed to the top!
