Well, other than my Monday story posts, I've been pretty quiet lately, as I'm sure you've noticed. A lot of that was just life. Dealing with the tax season in two different countries is punishing, and the last class I passed a couple of weeks ago was probably the most difficult test in my whole course, but I got through it. Only 4 more to go, and my degree is done, which will free up ~20 hours a week for me.
During all that, I've been working on a lot of things. Mostly writing new Death After Death chapters, and editing the first volume, but I've also started on the world map, and found a cover design/theme I like that I'll show off when I have something worth showing.
I've sold a few short stories recently as well. I'm at 256 rejections and 17 acceptances, which is honestly a great ratio.
I'll post a list of what they're about and where you can find them if anyone's interested. I also have an increasing backlog of shorts that have been rejected 10 times, which I don't plan to shop around any further, and I was thinking about narrating them and posting them here or on YouTube as short audio pieces. I know most of you love longer stories, but if you're interested in that, let me know. Some ideas just can't justify a 400-page epic.
Most importantly (and least productively,) though, today I turned 46. My wife and I celebrated it with the cake pictured above, a relaxing weekend, and a nice walk. So, expect that short story post sometime soon, and probably another post previewing whatever project I decide is "next" after I knock out another class or two.
