Howdy, all… I have been working since Saturday on FILFy and outlines. Outlines went great for Fate, Magic, and DA. Then I turn to FILFy… with an outline already extant. And… 9,000 words. That’s it. 13,000 words on the outlines. 9,000 words for FILFy. Worse, Nad Destroyer has yet to contact me. He’s had more than six weeks at this point to go over chapter 35 and hasn’t gotten it back to me.
With that in mind, and the fact I will be losing Saturday-Monday due to RL things (Mother’s Day, babysitting, setting up for a birthday, all of which I will be essentially moving into my brother’s place for the three days to do) I am making two executive decisions, one short term and one long term.
Firat, I am ending the Patron poll as the title of this post should have suggested. That way, I can spend all day tomorrow using Dragon Naturally Speaking to get as many words on paper that way for the poll winner down and then use the Weekend do go over it (twice, once on my own, during which I normally add at least another thousand words per every four, then a second time with Grammarly, which, as Hiryo says, is being ruined by the cloud/AI bull-shitterry and thus sloooow) and then finish the fic by Wednesday.
Second long-term decision: I am going to spend the end of this month going over chapter 35, going through my pm over on fanfic for FILFy corrections and listening via the fanfic app to get back into that world. I really had hoped Nad Destroyer would get the chapter back to me, but it’s been months now, he hasn’t, and I need to psych myself up to get back into that work, and I know that chapter wasn’t my best work… or else someone would have commented on it. Right? Right!?
I’ve had the final battle written up for a while, but getting to it, the bits and pieces that need to happen, no. I, I really, REALLY hope that works, because looking for fics hasn’t. They’ve been fun, but haven’t sparked the muse much. UGH.
Anyway, I have another few goodies I want to work on and post this month. One of my patrons asked for some visuals of the ships being used in Magic, and I figured that, and maybe a Vimesenthusiast-edited map of Middle Earth might be useful since the details on Tolkien’s map become rare to the east of the Lonely Mountain.
(You were an amazing man, Professor, and your grandson makes the real Quisling look intelligent and well-read. I am simply going to add to what is already there. We who play in your world can never truly come to match your vision; I just hope to add color to a few segments that were without such beforehand.)
In the future I’ll be updating the character profiles for Bhaalson, but that’ll be a good thing to do when I get to that fic in the future. But if anyone wishes to ask for anything in terms of organization, visuals or what-have-you ask here, and I will promise to at least consider them. I know the visuals/list of the girls for Journey (remember, the name will change in the future) got a lot of approval.
Anyway, with all that being said, here are the results of the Patron Only Poll:
With the Carry-Over of 686, Climbing Together did not need my votes to win, thankfully, as before that it had 1555, the total coming out to 2,241.
It’s nice when that happens, as I feel adding my 400 votes to the carry-over feels too much like authorial fiat to me, taking the vote away from you, my patrons.
Death’s Avenger brought in a very respectable 2,164. So it was close, but not quite enough to beat out the Carry-Over effect.
So I will be sending out Climbing by Wednesday to Hiryo for editing. He’s got chapter three of Journey right now. I’ll post that over on fanfic and redo it here when he gets it back to me. I made SO MANY changes to it in terms of dialogue and jokes that I’d urge you to go and read it for that, though there weren’t any changes that impacting the plot.
Beyond that, again, if you all have any suggestions/requests in terms of visuals or organization here on Patron, tell me here, and I’ll at least look into it and respond. Beyond that, have a nice weekend folks, and if you have the time, send a prayer to my DxD muse to force me to finish the next chapter!
