Digging started in 1975 when Daniel McGinnis discovered the hole. Since then there have been a LOT of attempts to retrieve the treasure buried at the bottom, here’s a overview of some of the excavations we talked about on the show:The Onslow Company - Gave up when they flooded the hole with water
The Truro Company - Gave up when they hit too many water traps (the lazy cowards)
The Oak Island Association - Quit when a water pump exploded and killed a guy (fair enough)
The Old Salvage Group - Couldn’t hack it (lazy cowards)
Robert Restall - Stopped when his son, 2 workers and himself all died by falling in the hole (fair enough)
The Triton Alliance - Ran out of money (the cheap cowards)
Now I know what you’re thinking… Why in gods name would anyone spend so much time and money digging for “treasure” without any evidence of it actually existing? Well let me show you something -
THIS is a single gold doubloon. It is quite possibly the sexiest coin in the world. I would sell all of my belongings and betray all of my friends to get my hands on one of these bad boys. Why do you think pirates were so mental?Now THIS is a CHEST of doubloons
