Dear patrons! Welcome to another edition of show notes! Today, covering none other than Gef the mongoose.
Now I don't want to spoil part 2 for ya, but there's some evidence we talked about this week that you're gonna wanna see.
Quick tangent on the topic of those intro questions, though. How do you know if your neighbour is a dark magician, Yu-Gi-Oh! style? It's difficult, but there are a few tell-tale signs.
Tell me, does your neighbour look like this?
Phew. Good news is you got nothin' to worry about! Worst thing this handsome bastard could do is seduce your spouse, but definitely nothing downright evil or paranormal.
Now, if your neighbour looks more like this:
Then you have a problem on your hands. This guy has absolutely all the tell-tale signs of being a dark magician.
- Staff (note, not to be confused with canes, which old people use. Use your common sense with this one)
- Massive dome hat (Although could also be a religious official or even better, cult leader
- Huge dark circles/make-up around eyes (some people have these due to tiredness and not because of a blackened soul. trust your gut!)
- Floating ancient seal written in forgotten esoteric language. Absolutely DEAD giveaway that you're dealing with a dark magician.
Like I said you need to take precautions ASAP because your family are not at risk of being banished to the shadow realm.
Artists interpretation of the Shadow Realm.
The only defence against this that I know of is keeping a whole damn deck of trap cards on hand. Feel free to customise your own.
Anyway I think that's enough self defence advice for this segment. Onto Gef!
Onto Gef, and the Isle Of Man...
That's some Skyrim shit.
And I haven't actually been to Isle of Man yet but I imagine it has a lot of paranormal potential... dark.... mysterious....
Yep. Nailed it. Please meet the Irving family! Voirrey, Margaret, and Jim. Left to right. Obviously.
I mean, yeah, just wanted to re-iterate that no-one was hanging out in the evenings watching Netflix. Back in the 30s you were lucky if you got a weekend newspaper supplement to keep you entertained all week. One crossword spread out over 7+ days. To make matters worse neither Fortnite nor PUBG had been invented yet. It was a god damn horror show. Except more boring.
And here is a grainy-ass image of Gef's Sanctum. Which is a very foreboding name for his bedroom. Might as well called it 'Gef's Sarcophagus', or, uh, 'Gef's Murder Pit'.
But what does Gef look like exactly? Well it ain't that simple, remember? He doesn't show himself to just anyone. BUT we've got an artists interpretation. Behold:
Not entirely paranormal looking. I guess you'd have to talk to him to understand, on account of that being what's paranormal about him. But don't be fooled by the adorable bushy tail, Mongi are dangerous.
Wait crap wrong photo. Like I was saying, dangerous!
Fuck I'm bad at this. Like I was saying!! dangerous!!
Yeah that's more like it! So were Gef's threats really empty? If he could mess up a King Cobra, what could he do...... to Jim?!
And we haven't even begun to evaluate claims that he is 'the fifth dimension' or that he split the atom or whatever else he said.
So, I'm gonna keep it brief. 'Cause there's more to Gef's story. Hope you guys are enjoying so far. See you on Tuesday for part 2!
