Garden.
Or.
I once agreed to water her apartment plants while she was away on a trip. Big mistake!
Vera taking some time for herself and working on her garden. Merging with nature, maybe a bit too much.
She's an old character of mine. I haven't drawn her in a while, but I came up with this idea after working on a similar themed piece and thought of Vera as she has been established in the past as a gardening enthusiast.
Story wise, she's a girl from a small town by the jungle, who's now came to live in the city to study botanics at college, and her affinity for plants is such that it was unavoidable for her to make such a big garden in her new apartment.
She's apparently somewhat comfortable with nudity, or has overestimated the privacy that a very high apartment provides, which to be fair, it does provide some but still. She probably hasn't thought about it too much.
She used to water her plants naked in her old place but the garden wasn't as visible.
TBH, having the piece in a balcony wasn't part of the plan at first, but it just felt good in the composition.
Don't worry though, her wife is here to save the day... or ruin it.
They're not actually married, it's just that by this point they might as well be. See, as I haven't drawn them in a while, I like to think that at least this pic is a bit later in their life.
As usual I started wanting to make something simple, I wanted it to have a soft, almost doodle-esque feel to it. And as usual I ended up not doing that. But that's because halfway through I thought of having Vera being rendered on a flat. Almost sketchy fashion, and then having the background around her done In the most elaborated fashion possible for me. And I do like the results.
My tablet on the other hand, not so much as it almost crashed a couple of times while working on this and the battery was at 5% when I finished.
