Angélica has always had problems making new friends, but now that she had to move because of her work and is new in town she decided to make a fresh start and it seems to be going pretty well.
See, Angie has always been pretty shy and awkward. She was homeschooled for a while so that didn't work, but she's actually pretty cool when you get to know her.
As for her new friends, Thorn the badger, and Elsa the gecko, well, to be honest they have always been known in town as what usually could be considered bad apples, but honestly I think this could work for the better. They could help Angie to come out of her shelf more, and teach her to be cool. I mean, at least they're definitely gonna teach her how to do some pretty cool stuff.
And Angie could have a positive effect on them too.
Now, I wanted to draw Angie acting a bit confused and nervous in the first picture but don't be confused, not even for a moment. She's totally into what's going on right now
I'm continuing this sort of experimental phase of mine (no pun intended?) here where I try to make stuff look a bit looser.
With the background for example where, even though I'm using straight lines, I actually used a grid to make sure I'm actually not adhering to it. A sort of “You have to know the rules to break the rules” kind of dealio, which is kind of appropriate to the theme of the pic in a sense.
As usual, even though I tried to keep it simple, I play around in the background a bit by adding two old characters of mine you probably have never heard before. So why even mention them right? But still. The polar bear and the vixen on the poster were probably going to be the characters of a little thing I was planning during the pandemic but sadly never really found the time for.
Here now they're promoting an in-universe romcom of a young couple of friends, now turned lovers, making an impromptu road trip around the country right after they pulled a little “The Graduate” and she ran away from her own wedding with him.
There's also some suspense with them running from the police during the trip as there was a little dispute at the church and the bear might have sent the groom to the hospital. Not really his fault though. How could he have ever known that that punch would make the groom’s appendix explode?!
You know, maybe I should have drawn that. Lol
