[Don't joke around, you bitch! I am Mister 2-]
Things took a turn for the worse for Bon Kurei when a few people started to see through his disguise. Not only that, but they also made it their mission to take him down and hold him accountable for his actions.
Even though he took on the role of Mister 2 in the Baroque Works organization, he still found himself in a bit of a bind when his two former comrades also chose to confront him.
Despite everything, his skills were not to be underestimated, and he successfully slipped away from the grasp of those people. He opted for the quiet alleys, seeking refuge from the prying eyes of the world. Each time the echoes of screams and the clash of swords reached his ears, his breath quickened, a rush of anxiety flooding through him.
He no longer dared to let out his laughter because all he could think about was escaping this place as quickly as he could. Despite his pale, sweaty face making him appear even more pitiful, he pressed on, taking careful steps forward.
"This's not a joke! Now that I can think clearly, it's puzzling how the team assigned to infiltrate the palace still hasn't reported back," Bon Kurei remarked, his feet bouncing energetically as he took wide strides. He skillfully utilized his ballet training to make a smooth and effective escape.
"I can't say if they'll come out on top or not... But what's the deal with Mister 0? Has he managed to get what he's after?"
As Bon Kurei pondered the situation, tears began to trickle down from the corners of his eyes. It was a heavy feeling as if he had been left all alone, with no one around to show they cared.
At first, his main job was to keep stirring up trouble in the capital by taking on the guise of Nefertari Cobra, thanks to his devil fruit powers. He managed to draw the attention of the palace soldiers effectively. As he looked around at the mostly wrecked surroundings, he couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment, knowing he had done his part well.
"But how long is this going to last?... is it okay if I head out now? Will Mister 0 scold me? I hope not. You know what? Fuck it, I'm leaving!"
Bon Kurei seemed to attract misfortunes like a magnet. It was as if fate had a personal vendetta against him, with each mishap unfolding in a series of unfortunate events. One moment, he would find himself slipping on a wet surface, and the next, his clothes would catch fire after he got too close to a blazing building. As he writhed on the ground, letting out a scream of pain, a figure intervened and put a break to his suffering.
"Who are you guys-" The first thing Bon Kurei noticed when he lifted his head was the elongated snout of a crocodile. His heart leaped in surprise, and for a brief moment, his face reflected a mix of emotions. However, he quickly regained his composure when he realized that the notoriously fierce animal had no intention of attacking him.
He then turned his attention to the people lounging on the crocodile's back, which had been transformed into a cozy, cushioned seat. He didn't recognize them at all, but as he looked at how young they were, a wave of déjà vu washed over him. His eyes widened in surprise as he spotted a pink-haired woman standing among them.
"C-Captain Hina, this can't be real! How are you here? You should be in the palace..." Bon Kurei exclaimed, his disbelief evident as he stood there, mouth agape for far too long.
"What's going on with him?" When Captain Hina heard her name being called, her curiosity piqued, and she turned to take in Bon Kurei from head to toe. "With those strange clothes he's wearing, I honestly thought he was just a palace clown who had decided to make a break for it."
"Don't joke around, you bitch! I am Mister 2-"
After being provoked, Bon Kurei inadvertently let slip his true identity. Just as he was about to say more, Captain Hina sprang into action, swiftly moving to apprehend him.
This was their first encounter in person, and he was utterly unprepared when Captain Hina unexpectedly unleashed her devil fruit ability, conjuring a padlock that bound his hands and feet in an instant. But that wasn't the end of it; from her arm, she crafted a chain that wrapped around Bon Kurei's entire body, binding him completely.
"Have you finished?" Luffy casually asked without showing the slightest concern, "So, he said he's Mister 2—"
"Don't bother. I'm sick of all these numbered agents," Captain Hina said, securing her chain to the strong crocodile tail before giving the command to keep moving forward on their journey.
Who would have imagined Bon Kurei would find himself tied up behind a crocodile's tail? His journey was anything but smooth, as he was dragged along mercilessly, his body bouncing along the rough terrain.
Despite his desperate screams of pain and his clear wish to give up, it seemed to have no effect on the people riding the crocodile. They remained utterly oblivious to his plight.
As they passed a group of soldiers stationed to guard the palace, they couldn't help but draw attention. The reactions from those around them were strikingly similar, almost as if everyone was reacting in unison.
When they saw Bon Kurei's body covered in scratches and his clothes all torn up from being dragged along the road, it was hard not to think that Luffy and his crew were incredibly heartless.
Honestly, Luffy and the crew were so worn out that they barely cared about what was going on with Bon Kurei. Even Makino and Nojiko decided to make the most of their adventure, drifting off into a peaceful sleep right in Luffy's arms.
As they stepped into the inner area of the palace, having just dismounted from the crocodile, Chaka, one of the head guards, made his way over to them. He started by expressing his gratitude for their successful efforts in saving his king. After that, he led them to the place where Vivi was receiving treatment.
"You guys can go ahead. I'll handle this clown," Captain Hina said with a hint of annoyance. It was clear to everyone that she felt somewhat forced to take on this task, and as a result, they cast sympathetic glances at Bon Kurei.
With Nefertari Cobra back in the palace, things gradually started to feel normal again. The usual hustle and bustle resumed, and the rhythm of daily palace life began to settle in once more. Even though the atmosphere felt quiet and a bit messy, there was a comforting absence of fighting that eased any worries in the heart.
The only sounds that pierced the silence were the unsettling clatter of footsteps on the floor and the eerie noise of someone being dragged down the hallway, sending a fresh wave of dread through the guard.
"Hey, did you happen to move those people I had imprisoned?"
Captain Hina's question left the guard puzzled. While her beauty had the power to entice any man, her disheveled look and the situation she was in made him feel more inclined to escape than engage.
"N-No, ma'am. The head guards specifically ordered that no one approach them," the guard stammered, his voice trembling with unease. He kept his gaze fixed downward, and when he noticed Captain Hina walking away in silence, a sigh of relief escaped him.
Yet, when he caught sight of the long chain she had left behind, his heart felt as if it were ensnared by a beast. At the end of that chain was a man, and his appearance was undeniably strange. His condition was pretty rough, and he had no idea what kind of struggles he had endured to reach this point.
He stayed completely still, not daring to move even a fraction, as the man was dragged right in front of his feet. Eventually, when the guard could no longer hear the poor man's labored breathing, he made the call to switch shifts with his partner.
Unbeknownst to Captain Hina, she inadvertently started spreading rumors around the palace. By the time she caught wind of the various nicknames people were calling her, it would be far too late for her to set the record straight.
