Planet Comicon KC was crazy! What a fun but crazy weekend.
My corner of the artist alley had some kind of weird curse or something cause we’ve had someone faint and needed a chair and water. We’ve had someone drop their frame, broken glass on the floor, and a convention center manager yelled at the guy as he picked up the pieces to throw away (yelling at him in a way like he was trying to start a fight, it was odd). And someone got hit in the nose by someone’s elbow in the crowd and had a bloody nose. I hope everyone is ok and doing well.
It was CRAZY busy. I heard the lines were a nightmare. I guess they did something new with the line organization that just… just did NOT work. I hope that gets fixed next year.
Right, the positives. LOVED seeing all my artist alley friends. I hate that I couldn’t leave the table all weekend because it was so crazy busy. And even on the down time, I was too burnt out to converse LOL I hope EVERYONE made good bank. Con goers this year have been so supportive and generous and sweet. Y’all are MVPs. I beat my record profits from last year.
The only signature I got this year was from Robin in Batman the animated series. Iconic. He’s MY Robin and the two part episode “Robin’s Reckoning” is ingrained in my brain (~cinema). He’ll look good framed along side my Paul Dini signed print (Paul Dini being a co-writer/creator of BtAS as well as Batman Beyond).
SO MANY FELLOW CRITTERS THIS WEEKEND!!! Y’all are the BEST! It’s also fun to see critters introducing their friends to Critical Role through the animated series for Vox Machina and the Mighty Nein and seeing their excitement on their faces when they see my CritRole stickers <3 <3 Blessed. Thank you to the Jester who gave me a Traveler pamphlet.
My table neighbor Melissa sadly got sick over the weekend so I got to chat with her sister, Jessica. Such a sweetie. We did some doodles for each other and shared snacks. Soooo precious <3 <3
Even through all the craziness of the weekend, I had a blast and can not wait to go again next year. I’m waiting for applications to drop for Planet Anime KC so I can go again this year. I’ll keep y’all posted.
