[nsfw] eliza/dr. reznikov comic page + draft

i had this idea swimming around in my head a while ago that Reznikov would try hypnosis on Eliza, Victorian physician style, but you know... horny. anyway, as always with my Victorian OCs I did an absolute tonne of research, then threw all of that out of the window to do something totally ridiculous. it's just fun to use drawing characters as an excuse to read a bunch, to learn about the actual macabre history of medicine--which is one of my weird fixations (but only like, 1800-1910)--to imagine the things the characters might do if they were real.

here's a higher resolution of the page. this was done in clip studio and lettered in photoshop (clip's lettering tool makes me want to punch my ipad).

when Reznikov's face starts to come together, i go absolutely nuts. he's so hard to draw. as you can see i'm kind of obsessed with drawing people's teeth to be slightly imperfect. i was like, his lower teeth *have* to be overlapping slightly. i'm not sure why, but it makes me feral.

Eliza, by the way, would be totally into being mesmerised. it wouldn't even need to work, she'd just be down bad at whatever he says.
