Hello lovely patrons!
Welcome to our newest monthly update where we update you on all things Two and a Half Studios. As always, these will come out every month on the 6th (AEST).
April was our busiest month in a long time! Alongside the launch of the A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS demo, the A Date with Death 1 voice acting patch and the Kickstarter launch, we were working on all of our upcoming games in tandem. On a personal note, I also had 2x rounds of surgery throughout the month. I'm happy we still got everything done in time and I'm recovering just fine, fortunately!
Lets quickly jump into an update on everything Two and a Half Studios from April-May.
The Willowmist Emporium of Antiques and Curiosities
Art
Over the past month, we've been finishing art in record speed. The following was completed:
Two new character sprites
Two new CGs
One new background
And we're currently working on:
One new CG (Lucille romance CG)
One new background (Lakeside)
Of the CGs, we're now completed all of the Florian and Lucille base route CGs! We're making much faster progress than anticipated. We're now working on Lucille's romance CG.
For the new background, we're working on a multi-use lakeside illustration. Many scenes will bring you here - including various festivals and celebrations over the course of your three months in Willowmist.

Writing, Editing and Outlining
We spent our time in April writing even more character events, focussing mostly on Emmett, but also adding some more to both Eden and Florian's routes.
A couple of little snippets from Emmett's events.
In all of the character events leading up until becoming locked into a route, you'll have a choice to make scenes take on a more romantic nature, or keep your relationship more platonic.
After becoming locked into a romance route, they will take on a more romantic feel by default, and you'll unlock extra romance events. But you can still fully complete a route platonically, if you'd prefer!
Programming
Week 2 is about to start being programmed! We'll have new screenshots to show soon :)
A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS
Writing & Editing
Day 1 and 2 of Atlas' route are now completely written, and day 7, the final day of the common route, is around 85% edited.
Time for a class(?) trip to the library!

Programming
Day 6 is about halfway programmed into the game, minus the walking sections. Our current plan is to get day 6 + 7 and 1 + 2 of Atlas' route ready for the next beta.
Right now, we're concentrating on adding more character events to the walking sections of the games. You'll meet even more characters in the coming days as a trainee Grim Reaper!
Art
We've had a load of brand new art release for the A Date with Death 2 Kickstarter, so today we decided to show off some WIPs!
We've also wrapped up our Underworld city background, and started to work on our next BG, which we'll show some previews of later this month.
Character wise, we're moving on to working on a new side character next!
Kickstarter
Our Kickstarter just launched a few days ago to a roaring success! I can't thank you all enough for funding us in 5 minutes, and hitting all our stretch goals in a few hours!
We added a second set of stretch goals to celebrate, and we're about to hit our top goal:
A brand new mini DLC for A Date with Death 1! We'll be going back in a post-game DLC with Casper set after the Metamorphosis ending specifically, though we plan to make it playable even without the knowledge from it.
