Welcome to our newest monthly update where we update you on all things Two and a Half Studios. As always, these will come out every month on the 6th (AEST).
We absolutely blasted through May - I'd say this is mostly because of our Kickstarter. Time seems to ZOOM by while you're running one of those things!
What a month it was, too. Over $500,000 in funding, hitting nearly all of our (extended) stretch goals. Thank you to everyone who supported us!
Of course, while we were busy running the campaign, we were also working on progressing all of our upcoming projects. We've got a lot to show!

Art
It's been another super busy art month - we've finished up with Lucille's romance CG, completing all of her artwork, as well as drafted up Emmett's mid-route CG. We're currently working on the lineart, which we hope to be done in the next few weeks.
From this month, we're going to be posting some more sketches of upcoming CGs, so please keep an eye out!
Writing, Editing and Outlining
May was spent on, mainly (may-nly), outlining! Making sure we have the story planned out enough to be able to give tasks to artists is one of my bigger jobs. I combed through all five main character routes to make sure they were even in content, and added some new scenes for Emmett specifically.
We'll have some snippets to show next month, as we work on completing the writing for week 3 throughout June.
A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS
Writing & Editing
We made a huge amount of progress in both writing and editing over May. Day 7 of the common route, day 1 of Atlas route, and day 1 of 5012's route are all written and fully edited, and we're partway through writing both day 2 of 5012 and Atlas' routes.
Programming
This is where our biggest progress has been this month - Day 6, 7, Atlas 1, and 5012 1 are all fully programmed into the engine, with 6/7/5012 1 all fully tested.
Our next task is testing Atlas' route 1, then adding in some more of the side character events all throughout the game.
This means... new beta very soon! We plan to have this beta out first for Patreon supporters before Kickstarter betas (for those on the beta tier) begin next month. Expect it in the next 1-2 weeks!
Art
Artwise, we wrapped up a new Atlas CG, and started work on two different sprite variants for 5012 and Atlas - their undressed sprites, plus one other you'll see a sketch for very soon. On top of that, we also finished off 4187's sprite, which you may have seen the sketch for a few days ago!

We also started working with the wonderful Jyo on our brand new chibi CGs, which we started and completed 9 of so far! Here's a few little previews:

Background wise, we finished up with another background that you'll see at the end of the common route, and started designing our brand new room decorating feature! You'll really be able to make the Underworld feel like home by the time we're done with it :D
You'll be able to mix and match between sets. We're really excited to see it all come together!
Lastly, we also worked with Kathaeris on a new flyer for ADWD2 for events!

Voice Acting
We've now handed off our script, all of the English voice lines, and line direction to our Japanese recording partners for the A Date with Death Japanese voice over!
We're expecting to see recording finished by the end of July. We're excited to show you more as we receive it!
Other News
New Monthly Artist!
We have super exciting news - while we will be continuing our art polls with the wonderful Luna and Fuyuure, we're now also working with a brand new artist for a fourth monthly exclusive artwork!
This additional artwork will be selected from our second monthly art poll (Veritate submissions) by us personally. While any character from any of our projects may be chosen, we'll mainly be using this opportunity to spotlight characters and submissions that may not normally place highly in the main poll.
Of course, this doesn't mean the selection will always be an underdog pick - we'll still choose based on what we think would make a fun and exciting piece!!! - but our goal is to give some extra love to characters and projects that might otherwise be overlooked somtimes :D
We will be starting this immediately this month!
Appearances
July is set to be a super busy month - we'll be at Smash! Anime Convention 2026 from July 11 - 12, with some old and new merch, plus some brand new flyers (how exciting!).
On top of that, the whole team will be out of office from 22 July - 1 August in Germany for a game event. While this is outside work hours for us (a... holiday...?) we may bring a couple of goodies with us to give away if we meet any fans at EU FFXIV Fanfest :)
