Hey Everyone!I hope you're having a good easter holiday so far, I felt like today I should share some early sketches I did for Bea Stuck in a Tree which has been out for 2 months now as an animation!A lot of these sketches were originally used back when this story was only in image-form, but these would become reference for when it was transferred over to the animation. One thing to point out is that originally I thought about Bea's legs also being stuck in the tree until I decided narrow it down just to her bottom, I also think having her legs on the outside added to a lot of the expressive poses I was able to do for her. (I might return to the concept of the legs inside the tree again in the future though.)Second thing to mention is that you can see Bea also has a tail similar to Bradley in one of the sketches, I did consider both of them until I stuck to the round tail one which I think suits her more! The alternate tail did end up going to Bradley!Couple other mentions, Bea was planned at one point to just land on the ground once Bradley freed her, but it got changed to water when the background was decided and I felt like it was a better ending. I did also want to do maybe some more afterwards scenes but I think it tied nicely at the end and have decided to just keep those for sequels if I get around to them!Anyway that's all for now! I'm glad to see the animation has been well received on youtube, I'm appreciate hearing that my cartoons remind people a bit of the classic-era of cartoons which I am very inspired by! But I'm also doing my best to try and push things into new directions which I feel like I haven't seen done yet too, either way I look forward to sharing more new animations soon!Thank you!-PM
