Hi dear Berries! 👋😊 Today we're excited to bring you the "Making Of" of the tenth Pre-Animation in Foxlo's Giant Blueberry transformation sequence! 🫐🎬 Continuing in the established order of our sequence, 🎞️ the rotoscope animation for Shot 10 is now complete! 🍾 This time, it was created entirely in CGI, since the character is facing away, making it unnecessary to cut out and integrate a live-action head. 🖥️✂️ All information about the process is available below... ⬇️
In this new shot, we see Foxlo from behind, visibly uncomfortable as more and more blueberry juice continues to accumulate inside her body, 💦 causing her shape to expand further and become increasingly round and spherical. 🔵 This shot is directly inspired by the iconic scene from the 2005 movie, 🍿as our goal is to recreate it as faithfully as possible while still adding our own unique visual style and artistic interpretation. 🎭
In addition, we've included a completely original close-up detail that was not featured in the movie. 🎥 In this new moment, you'll be able to see Foxlo's foot gradually lifting off the ground and becoming partially absorbed into the large spherical mass her body is transforming into, 🔵👟 helping to emphasize the scale, volume and progression of the transformation! 😨
🛠️ On the technical side: we can share that all animations were created in Blender, using rotoscoping for movements referenced directly from the film. The the soft-body effects applied to the body, breasts and belly were done in Houdini. However, the CGI hair was modeled using splines in Maya; and the the Inventing Room environment was also composed in Blender. 🖥️⚙️ Up next, you’ll find both videos where you can clearly see the entire process we just described earlier in the post. ⬇️Video Links⬇️
