Elaina Marks journey to the Hulk pt2…
Elaina has known David since college and has held a candle that a romance would happen. David’s marriage to Laura and his grief at her passing were unavoidable obstacles. Their close work relationship at the Culver Institute gave her new hope. She was frustrated though, with David’s almost impenetrable grief and disinterest in romantic connection.
The Hulk changes everything.
When David shows up at her house after the first transformation, she feels a vulnerableness in him as well as being turned on seeing him in his torn clothes. She feels like he showed up at her house because he needs her and her hope for romance is rekindled. She even shows up at the south lab dressed in a translucent blouse with no bra (happens in the first episode) in hopes of inspiring David to share her attraction. Seeing David vigorously engaged in their research makes her feel a deeper connection to him.
The Hulk’s second appearance creates an even deeper connection for Elaina. David’s primal state and her ability to communicate and influence his behavior are the nail in the coffin for Elaina’s love for David, both emotionally and erotically. They now have an exciting, dramatic secret between them…
And Jack McGee ruins everything….
Jack was in the closet where the explosion originated from…because of him, David is on the run, she was in a coma, and now she faces a similar feeling of weakness, similar to what David must have felt, as she deals with her physical therapy…
It’s Jack’s fault they are apart, that they can’t be in love…and Elaina can’t let it go…
Which brings us to the how, now that we know the why…
I will post about that tomorrow as well as my plan for drawing out Elaina’s hulk out …
