DESCRIPTION

On this month's very special supporter-curated edition of The Nexus, we're chatting about two of the best episodes both DS9 and TNG ever created!

First up on Deep Space Nine, it's the heavy-ass episode, "Duet"! Originally airing back on June 16, 1993, this is the legendary episode where Major Kira grapples with whether or not an ill Cardassian that boards DS9—an excellent guest appearance by the late, great Harris Yulin—is actually a war criminal that worked at a Cardassian labor camp she liberated. It's some of the best acting Nana Visitor got to do as Kira and the scenes between her and Harris Yulin are excellent. This episode remains atop fans' Best Of Trek lists for a reason.

Then across the Alpha Quadrant on TNG, we're talking about another total all-timer, "The Inner Light." Premiering May 30, 1992, this is the episode where Picard is scanned with a probe and then wakes up as a completely different person on a distant planet. Is he actually Captain Jean-Luc Picard? Or is he really Kamin, this small village's respected elder/scientist? This truly is some of the best acting Patrick Stewart got to do as Picard on this show through all seven seasons, four movies, and all three seasons of Picard. A really important and special Trek moment here!

The Nexus is a WHM podcast where the guys futilely go through two Star Trek series at the same time. Thank you so much for continuing to support our family of shows—we couldn't do it without you! We know you have lots of options for pods and we're super-stoked you chose to spend some time with us—thanks again!
