On this month's edition of our cartoon re-cap show, Remake-ril takes hold as we chat about an episode of the 2017 DuckTales reboot!
The episode in question, "Terror of the Terra-Firmians!" originally premiered back on October 7, 2017, and finally confirms what we've all been wondering: Duckburg has a repertory movie house!
Yes, this is the Uncle Scrooge-less (sorry) episode where the kids go see a horror movie with Mrs. Beakley and Launchpad, and get totally freaked out on the walk home when Webby starts talking about the spooky Terra-Firmians, a.k.a. the C.H.U.D.s of Duckburg!
This re-boot kept the spirit of the theme song in tact which is appreciated, but also was filled with wildly talented comedic actors like Ben Schwartz, Bobby Moynihan, Kate Micucci, Danny Pudi, and Beck Bennett which certainly helped during this David Tennant-free episode. This episode also features Lena, the teenage duck that's possessed by Magica De Spell, an assortment of really good gags featuring Beck Bennett's Launchpad McQuack, Mrs. Beasley displaying super-duck strength after being crushed by a subway car, and, yes, an annoyingly quick conclusion that treats the Terra-Firmians as a total afterthought!
DuckTales (2017) features the voice talents of Ben Schwartz, Bobby Moynihan, Danny Pudi, Kate Micucci, Beck Bennett, Toks Olagundoye, Kimiko Glenn, Catherine Tate, Fred Tatasciore, Cree Summer, and David Tennant as Uncle Scrooge.
