Hey, folks.Just wanted to quickly mention two complaints I had when I posted last week's megapoll. Along with something else I want to say.Three main complaints that came to me:1) Mixing OC characters with established characters doesn't give OC characters much of a chance. To be honest, I wasn't really planning to do this for this poll. But then an OC owner asked if OCs could be suggested. I thought, "Why not? Let's give it a try."But fact of the matter remains that most folks will usually vote for established characters they are familiar with rather than OC they don't really know. So OC characters really never stood a chance. It was a fun experiment, but one I don't think I'll try again in the future. However, I might be open to special OC-only themed polls in the future occasionally (established character sets will remain the bread and butter, but doing, say, one poll centered on OCs only is something I might consider once a year, just to try out.) And add a bit more variety. That said, for this special SCP set next month, as to not disappoint OC owner participants and voters, I will do this:I'll do two final top 6 pulls. One of the top 6 established characters of the megapol, who will be the main character of the SCP set.And one 6-top OC character, where the winner will be a "cameo" character in the SCP SET.2) Established characters that were done in previous sets appear too often in polls. This is a valid complaint (Shego in this case), and I understand how including a very popular character a second time like that can rob the opportunity for other characters that never got their sets before to get theirs. In light of that, going forward... I will try to be more conscious when selecting suggestions about that fact and try to focus on characters that didn't get their moment to shine yet. There are, however, a few exceptions:
A) If the set is very old. Say at least 5-6 years old. Then it's open to consideration. Though I will still try to privilege characters that didn't get a set yet as much as possible.B) The character that got one drawing or a VERY small single image set doesn't count. For example, I drew like a 4 or so image short set of Albedo. That is not a full image set, so although I drew her at some point, she can still be picked for polls. I'll only try to avoid characters that got large sets.C) Characters that appear in a set but are the main character to be bound are still valid suggestions that I might pick. For example, just because the Mirko set had Toga it, doesn't mean I won't consider Toga. Because Toga was not the main character of the set. Mirko was.All in all, I will do my best to minimize characters that already got a good large set dedicated to them reappearing in polls as much as I can going forward. I can't promise it can't happen though, as sometimes maybe there aren't enough suggestions of character that fit the theme ect... But will try harder.3) Game dev in 2026Last one, game dev. More specifically, 3072 AD. I think it's obvious to everyone that I've been struggling with getting game dev running back to how it used to be last year. I want to first assure everyone that I'm still aiming to release an update of 3072 AD by the end of the year.I know it's been a slow year game dev-wise, but I got a big beating last year with all my mental breakdowns, still ongoing financial troubles, and health issues. It's not a lack of motivation; it's just that I couldn't physically and mentally keep up with the state of things. Drawing was simply the only thing I could manage in my state of mind. (As game dev requires a lot more concentration, problem-solving, etc.) Which is why I focused on that most of this year.Point being, yes, 2026 will be a slow year game-dev-wise, and it can't be helped. But I'm still confident I will release a patch for 3072 AD by the end of the year. Or at least I'll try (worst-case scenario it might be very early next year).2027 should be the year (I hope) where I'm back to normal and game dev can move to a more steady pace as it used to. I wish I didn't have to slow things down a bit this year, but my body and mind simply couldn't handle it. And my focus right now to avoid getting a full burnout (which would be a lot worse.)I just wanted to be honest about it. Reassure everyone that yes, 3072 AD updates are still coming. But also, I am being realistic in saying that 2026 is not the best of years game-dev-wise due to circumstances out of my control. But it will get better as I solve my problems. One personal battle at a time. That's about it.Thank you for your understanding.
