DESCRIPTION
Every evening I pass the boutique window and pretend not to study the mannequin in the silver dress. Tonight her reflection raises a hand before mine does. When I press my palm to the glass, the street folds inward and Julian's body becomes rigid on the pavement outside. I wake behind the display in her dark-haired, softly curved form, still holding the pose the dresser gave her that morning. Only my eyes and one hand will move. I slap the glass, but the people outside smile at the lifelike new mannequin.
