So yeah... this just in- Streetfighter 6 just won the Fighting Game Race. Just a while ago, at the end of Summer Gamefest 2026 they revealed Season 4 for SF6, revealing the huge leak that has been rocking gamers for weeks and weeks. TIFA LOCKHART is in Streetfighter 6. As speculated, it seems that Ingrid may have a hand in bringing the Final Fantasy heroine to the world of Capcom.
But aside from that- we got ourselves a NEW BAREFOOT GIRL- her name is Yasmine, and she will be the first new fighter for Season 4, apparently releasing in August 2026. As the artwork shows, she has a face scar, a tan complexion, a tattered gi and footwraps (pretty much barefoot). Aside from that, I suspect that she is from the Philippines, given that her outfit is showing the colors of the Philippine flag (white, red, blue) as well as having the Sun on her shoulder. A tough girl version of Josie Rizal? Man, SF6 really is beating Tekken in every way.
Then comes Arjun (Autumn 2026) who is a big buiser who apparently uses Yoga and has exceptional lung power and fire-breathing techniques (Dhalsim's protege?). Then, nicely enough, Tifa is set for an early 2027 release. Then, somehow... Bosch returned. The SF6 devs deemed him worthy to return from his apparent demise at the end of World Tour to become a playable fighter, and will be the final fighter for Season 4.
Anyway, forget Tifa (for now), I am stoked to see Yasmine release in a couple of months. She is giving me strong Makoto vibes- if she is basically young Makoto, then I'll take it. MAN, this Summer Gamefest delivered with the final minutes (Oh yeah Final Fantasy 7 Revelations was revealed as well).
Might be that I will have to do more Streetfighter 6 content from here on... don't worry Tekken fans, Tekken 8 still has the best-looking feet around so I'll always love it. But for today- and the rest of the year... Streetfighter just took a Major W. I'll be on this like a hawk- this is exciting.
Oh, and really- we still have our Tifa mods for Tekken 8 btw...
