DESCRIPTION

Synopsis: Karl Jenson was an exhausted 27-year-old man working two fast-food jobs just to survive. After dying in a freak accident, he suddenly wakes up inside the body of Lucifer Morningstar in a luxurious penthouse in Los Angeles. At first, Karl thinks he has lost his mind, but everything changes when millions of years of Lucifer’s memories flood into his head. He remembers Heaven, Hell, angels, demons, and Lucifer’s rebellion against God as if they were his own memories.

Now trapped in the Devil’s body, Karl must deal with supernatural powers, dangerous celestial politics, and Lucifer’s wild lifestyle while trying to hold onto his human identity. But as Lucifer’s memories and emotions become more natural inside his mind, Karl starts wondering if he is still himself anymore… or if he is slowly becoming the real Devil.

[Year 2026]

Karl Jenson spent most of his life tired.

He felt a deep exhaustion that didn’t go away, unlike the usual tiredness that fades after a good night’s sleep. Every day, he woke up at five in the morning to catch a crowded bus across the city. Then he worked for six hours making sandwiches for busy office workers who rarely acknowledged him.

“More mayo,” a customer muttered without glancing up from his phone.

Karl forced a polite smile and spread another layer across the bread. “Sure.”

The smell of baked bread and processed meat clung to his clothes long after every shift ended. By the time he clocked out of Subway, his feet already hurt, but the day was never over. He still had another job waiting for him.

KFC at night.

Grease, heat, and screaming orders from the kitchen manager. Karl sometimes wondered if his body had forgotten what rest felt like. The paycheck from one job disappeared into rent and electricity bills. The paycheck from the other went toward groceries and overdue payments that never seemed to shrink.

It was not a good life, but it was stable enough to survive.

And survival had become his routine.

At twenty-seven years old, Karl no longer dreamed about becoming rich or successful. Those ideas had faded years ago. These days, he only hoped the bus would arrive on time and that his landlord would stop raising the rent.

By the time his night shift ended, the city streets had already emptied. Cold air drifted through the sidewalks as Karl shoved his hands into the pockets of his faded hoodie and started the walk back to his apartment.

His body ached and the smell of fried chicken followed him like a curse.

The neon signs overhead buzzed softly while distant traffic echoed through the streets.

Karl looked toward the convenience store across the road and considered buying a pack of cream soda before deciding not to when he remembered that the company had raised the price again. He needed to save money.

A bitter laugh escaped his throat.

“Man,” he muttered to himself while walking past a flickering streetlamp, “what's the point of living if I can't even enjoy a pack of cream soda after working like a slave?”

The city answered with silence.

Then came the explosion.

Flames shot up from a manhole cover several meters behind Karl, and the ground shook violently under his feet. Karl barely had time to turn around before he felt a strong urge to run.

People shouted in the distance. Car alarms blared. Karl saw the manhole cover spinning through the air. It flew up so fast that his mind could not process it properly. One moment, it was rising through smoke and fire, and the next, it was right in front of his face.

Then everything went dark. There was no pain or final thoughts.

Splatt!!!

Karl Jenson died instantly.

..

[Some unknown time later]

Softness was the first thing Karl noticed when consciousness slowly returned.

Warm blankets pressed against his skin while a cool breeze drifted lazily across his face. The air carried the faint scent of flowers, perfume, and something expensive he could not quite identify.

His eyebrows pulled together slightly.

This did not feel like a hospital.

The last thing he remembered was a flash of fire and the deafening roar of an explosion somewhere behind him. Then the horrifying blur of a manhole cover hurtling through the air fast enough to split his thoughts apart before everything went black. His eyes were still closed as he was rearranging his thoughts.

Slowly, Karl opened his eyes.

Golden sunlight poured through enormous windows stretching nearly from floor to ceiling, bathing the room in warm light. For several long seconds, he simply stared upward in confusion while his exhausted brain struggled to process what he was seeing.

The bedroom looked absurdly luxurious.

Marble pillars lined the walls beside dark wooden panels polished so perfectly they reflected light like glass. A crystal chandelier hung high overhead, glittering faintly beneath the morning sun. Expensive furniture filled the massive room with the kind of effortless elegance Karl had only seen in movies about billionaires and celebrities.

His throat felt dry.

“What...?”

The word barely escaped his mouth.

Then he realized he was not alone.

A soft weight rested against his left side while another body lay partially draped across his right arm beneath the blankets. Karl turned his head slowly, and the moment his eyes focused properly, every thought inside his head scattered.

Two women were lying beside him.

One blonde and one brunette.

Both wore tiny bikinis while sleeping comfortably against him as though this situation were completely ordinary. The blonde rested against his chest with one arm lazily wrapped around his stomach, while the brunette stretched slightly beneath the silk sheets, her dark hair spilling across the pillow.

Karl froze.

His brain desperately searched for an explanation that made sense, but every possible answer sounded insane. 'Am I in heaven?'

The brunette slowly opened her eyes first. A sleepy smile spread across her lips the second she looked at him.

“Morning, Lucifer,” she murmured softly.

Karl stared at her blankly as his left eye twitched a bit.

“…What?”

The blonde groaned quietly and buried her face deeper against his chest without even opening her eyes. “Five more minutes,” she mumbled sleepily.

His heartbeat immediately started hammering against his ribs.

Lucifer?

Karl pushed himself upright so quickly that the blankets slid halfway off the bed. The women barely reacted, clearly too used to this kind of chaos to care.

“No,” he whispered under his breath while staring around the room again.

This time, he noticed details he had missed moments earlier.

Several expensive liquor bottles sat on a nearby table beside crystal glasses and scattered poker chips. A black tailored suit had been tossed carelessly across a leather chair near the fireplace, looking more expensive than everything Karl owned combined. Polished dress shoes rested beside the chair, their surfaces reflecting sunlight sharply enough to hurt his eyes.

A strange cold feeling crawled up his spine.

His breathing became uneven as panic slowly tightened around his chest.

“No, no, no…”

Karl stumbled out of bed and nearly lost his balance when his bare feet touched the freezing marble floor. He hurried across the room toward the massive mirror standing beside the wall, his pulse growing louder with every step.

Then he stopped.

The reflection staring back at him was not his own.

The man in the mirror looked tall, elegant, and effortlessly handsome in a way that almost seemed unfair. Sharp features framed a familiar face beneath perfectly styled dark hair, while confident posture lingered naturally in his body even through visible panic.

Karl felt his stomach drop violently.

He recognized that face instantly.

His trembling hand slowly reached toward the mirror as if touching the glass might somehow wake him from whatever nightmare this was.

Tom Ellis.

More specifically, Lucifer Morningstar.

Karl stared at his reflection in complete disbelief while his mind struggled to catch up with reality. His breathing became shallow. His thoughts tangled together so badly he could barely think straight anymore.

He remembered the impossible force of metal smashing toward him before everything disappeared into darkness. 'I died! Yeah, I definitely died. I think my head exploded.'

So why the hell was he standing inside Lucifer Morningstar’s penthouse wearing Lucifer Morningstar’s face?

“What the hell is happening to me?”

He looked around to see if this was a shooting set, but nope. There were no cameras or any crew members. So, he crossed out the fact that he's Tom on a shooting set.

"Bloody hell!"

....

Karl barely had time to process the reflection staring back at him before violent pressure exploded through his skull with enough force to nearly drive him to his knees beside the mirror. The pain did not resemble a normal headache or even ordinary human suffering. It felt as though something vast and ancient had forced itself into his mind all at once, tearing open every barrier inside his thoughts without caring whether his brain could survive the impact.

A sharp breath escaped him while he grabbed the edge of the marble counter for support. His vision blurred violently as the pressure continued building inside his head, growing heavier with every passing second until it felt impossible to think clearly.

Then the memories arrived.

They did not come as scattered flashes or disconnected images. Entire lifetimes unfolded inside his mind with horrifying clarity, each memory carrying emotions so vivid and overwhelming that they crushed against his identity beneath their sheer weight.

He saw Heaven first.

Endless celestial cities stretched across radiant skies filled with light so beautiful that no human language could have properly described it. Structures larger than mountains shimmered in the distance while rivers of gold and silver flowed beneath towering bridges carved from materials that seemed to exist beyond mortal understanding. Even the air carried a sense of harmony, power, and divine authority strong enough to make human existence feel painfully insignificant by comparison.

Karl recognized this place. It wasn’t just a vague memory like seeing a scene in a book or a painting. It felt like he was remembering home after being away for a long time.

Angels soared through the skies above him with white and gold wings, shining like stars. Their voices echoed throughout all of creation, and divine energy filled every part of existence. Faces appeared in his mind one after another, each bringing feelings that felt deeply familiar, including his family members in the silver city.

The realization struck him with enough force to nearly make him lose his balance again. These memories did not feel distant or detached, like scenes observed through someone else’s eyes. They carried personal attachment, history, and emotion. He remembered arguments that lasted centuries, moments of laughter shared between siblings older than civilizations, rivalries shaped across millions of years, and beneath all of it lingered the presence of someone infinitely greater than the rest of them combined.

Father.

The moment that awareness surfaced, another torrent of memories crashed into him before he could fully recover.

Heaven descended into rebellion.

The skies burned with celestial power while angels clashed against one another with enough force to shake creation itself. Karl felt rage, pride, betrayal, and absolute conviction twisting together inside his chest so intensely that separating those emotions from his own thoughts became nearly impossible. He remembered standing against Heaven with complete certainty that he was right. He remembered refusing to kneel, obey, and accept a cause he no longer believed in.

Then came the punishment.

The Fall tore through him with horrifying clarity while grace itself was ripped from his existence piece by piece. Endless darkness swallowed him as he plummeted through creation, and the agony reached far beyond physical pain. It felt as though fundamental parts of his very soul had been carved away and discarded while he fell into something cold, eternal, and empty.

Hell opened beneath him soon afterward.

Endless wastelands burned beneath blackened skies while tortured souls screamed through punishments shaped from guilt and despair. Demons bowed before him with fear etched deeply into their twisted faces, and Karl slowly realized with growing horror that they had never been bowing before some distant Devil from mythology.

They had been bowing before him.

Or rather, before Lucifer Morningstar.

The memories continued flooding through him relentlessly, carrying centuries upon centuries of existence alongside them. He remembered ruling Hell for millennia while resentment toward Father slowly hollowed him out from the inside. Endless responsibility became exhaustion. Hatred gradually dulled into bitterness, and bitterness eventually decayed into a boredom so profound that even tormenting damned souls no longer brought him satisfaction.

Then the memories shifted again.

Los Angeles appeared beneath warm city lights while music echoed through crowded clubs and expensive cars sped through midnight streets. The years blurred together in a haze of indulgence, luxury, alcohol, gambling, and temporary distractions powerful enough to drown out eternity for a few fleeting moments at a time. Karl felt the relief Lucifer experienced after abandoning Hell and settling in Los Angeles, as though leaving the underworld behind had allowed him to breathe properly for the first time in ages.

Lux, the penthouse, and a constant cycle of parties, women, drugs, whiskey, and wild freedom that now feels painfully familiar.

Karl’s breathing grew uneven while the torrent of memories finally began slowing enough for coherent thought to return. Sweat rolled down his forehead as he remained hunched over the marble counter, gripping it tightly while his mind struggled to separate his own identity from the impossible weight of Lucifer’s existence.

Memories of crowded buses and exhausting Subway shifts tangled together with visions of silver-winged angels soaring across divine skies. The smell of grease and fried chicken from KFC mixed with the memory of Hellfire and burning wastelands. Human exhaustion collided violently against celestial arrogance until the boundaries between both lives began blurring together inside his head.

It took nearly fifteen minutes before the pressure inside his skull eased enough for him to stand upright again.

Somewhere behind him, one of the women lying in the enormous bed shifted lazily beneath the blankets, completely unaware that the man standing near the mirror had just experienced millions of years' worth of memories in the span of a few unbearable moments.

Karl slowly lifted his head and stared at his reflection once more.

The face looking back at him remained flawless, composed, and unmistakable.

'Lucifer Morningstar.'

The memories felt too detailed and emotionally real to dismiss as fantasy.

He understood celestial hierarchies instinctively. Languages he had never studied rested naturally inside his mind. Somewhere deep beneath the surface of his existence, he could even feel power sleeping quietly like a storm waiting for the moment it finally awakened.

And perhaps the most terrifying part of all was the simple fact that Lucifer’s memories no longer felt separate from his own.

They felt natural.

Karl kept staring at his reflection while the weight of reality slowly settled over him, inch by inch. Eventually, he dragged a trembling hand down across his face before releasing a long, exhausted breath.

“Bloody hell,” he muttered quietly.

Then another realization surfaced, causing his expression to shift slightly.

“That phrase is significantly less metaphorical now."
