DESCRIPTION

AN: I wanted to wrap the case up in this chapter, but it was really impossible lol. This chapter is like 5k words and I still couldn't fit it all in.😅 Now I get why all the Lucifer ff got dropped by other authors. Most of them struggle to connect the characters in the first half of the story and it somehow jumbles things up. Anyway, I'm gonna go on. Just stay with me for another 1 or 2 chs while I wrap this up; after that, I'll probably stop following the OG cases and create my own.

[Morning] [Garden Wedding of Jimmy]

The garden wedding looked expensive and painfully self-important.

Rows of white chairs lined the aisle beneath strings of flowers and soft morning sunlight. Guests filled every seat, dressed in designer suits, pastel dresses, sunglasses, and polite smiles that barely hid the gossip moving between them. Family sat near the front with proud expressions. Frenemies sat farther back, whispering behind champagne glasses while pretending they had come to celebrate love instead of watch another industry disaster unfold in real time.

It was a whole big ta-da.

At the altar, Jimmy Barnes stood in his wedding suit with a smile that looked rehearsed in front of a mirror. Sweat shone faintly across his big forehead despite the perfect weather, and his eyes kept flicking between the priest, the guests, and the woman standing before him.

Amanda Bello looked beautiful enough to make the entire garden feel underdressed.

The supermodel bride stood in white, holding her bouquet with practiced grace. Her face carried the calm perfection of someone trained to look flawless under cameras, but her eyes were distant. She smiled when expected, moved when expected, and stood beside Jimmy like she had already agreed to something she was trying not to think about too deeply.

The priest opened his book and continued in a solemn voice while the guests watched with polite attention.

“Speak now or forever hold your peace...”

A voice boomed from the back of the garden.

“Excuse me!”

Every head turned at once.

Lucifer Morningstar came strolling down the aisle as if interrupting weddings was a normal part of his morning routine. His dark suit fit perfectly, his smile carried open mischief, and his entire presence dragged the focus of the ceremony away from the altar before Jimmy could even react.

A few guests gasped.

A few others immediately lifted their phones.

Jimmy’s smile vanished.

Lucifer continued walking, relaxed and unhurried, while Amanda stared at him with wide eyes and the priest seemed to forget the next line entirely.

Lucifer stopped partway down the aisle and looked around at the assembled guests with theatrical concern.

“I have a problem. Has anyone else noticed how incredibly, jaw-droppingly, loin-stirringly beautiful this young woman is? And how short, sweaty and altogether fugly this homunculus is? What is this? A wedding or a kidnapping?”

The garden erupted in shocked murmurs.

Someone near the front made a strangled sound that might have been a laugh. A woman in a huge hat turned bright red. Several guests looked at Jimmy, then at Amanda, and then looked away far too quickly because Lucifer’s question had landed with uncomfortable accuracy.

The priest crossed himself and began mumbling prayers under his breath.

Lucifer noticed and chuckled.

“Good luck with that, padre. While you’re at it, tell him I say hey -- it’s been awhile.”

The priest’s mumbling became faster.

Lucifer reached the altar and turned his attention fully toward the groom, who was sweating harder now while desperately clinging to some semblance of cool. 'I'd love to snap his neck right now, but... I gotta control my urges, atleast till this episode is over. Then, I'll have Maze deal with him.'

“Jimmy Barnes! Do you remember me?”

Jimmy forced a laugh and glanced toward the guests, clearly hoping someone would step in. Nobody moved.

“Hey, man, this is a private event. How’d you get in here?”

Lucifer looked around the garden, taking in the flowers, the expensive chairs, the guests, and the overall smell of money pretending to be romance.

“Yes, and quite a lavish, be it tacky one for a record producer on the outs.”

Jimmy looked really nervous.

Lucifer stepped closer, his smile still bright but his eyes much sharper now.

“Do you remember me?”

Jimmy lowered his voice, trying to keep the panic away from the guests. “Of course I remember you! What do you want?! I’m a little busy!” He tried to smile a bit.

Lucifer tilted his head slightly, as if the answer should have been obvious.

“I can’t believe you’re getting married the day after your ex-lover and once brightest star nearly got killed by a shooter.”

The murmuring changed immediately.

Delilah’s name did not need to be spoken for the guests to understand the shadow that had just fallen over the ceremony. Some faces shifted with discomfort. Others brightened with ugly interest because scandal was still scandal, even when blood was involved.

Jimmy’s expression hardened.

“Yeah, it’s sad, but Delilah ruined my wedding once before. I wasn’t about to let her do it again.”

Lucifer’s eyes locked onto him.

“Yes. It’s hard to be rejected, isn’t it Jimmy? Twice.”

Jimmy blinked.

“What?!”

Lucifer’s smile sharpened.

“She said you tried to get her back recently. I’d kill someone if they denied me once... not that that’s possible. Come on, tell me, Jim-bo, did you want her dead? You know I love a juicy story.”

Jimmy looked away.

It was brief, but Lucifer saw it.

So did several guests close enough to watch his face properly. Amanda noticed too, and her fingers tightened around her bouquet.

Jimmy shook his head quickly, trying to recover.

“I’m not playing that mind game with you. Of course not! I was furious and humiliated when she dumped me, but I think I rebounded pretty well.”

He gestured toward Amanda with desperate pride.

Lucifer gave her an appreciative glance.

“Clearly. Respect.”

Amanda looked between them, her perfect bridal expression beginning to crack around the edges.

Jimmy swallowed and hurried to push the attention elsewhere.

“You should go play your games with 2Vile.”

Lucifer raised an eyebrow. 'The bastard who hit her. I'm gonna break his bones.'

“The rapper?”

“Yeah, Delilah dumped me for that lunatic. They were always fighting. I think he slapped her around a bunch. He’s the real deal, man, and he’s surrounded by a bunch of gun-toting morons 24-7.”

Lucifer already knew that thanks to his past life.

2Vile. The rapper. The next stop in the original path. Then meeting with Trixie and Linda. The pieces still needed to move, at least enough for the day to unfold properly. He needed to play the first episode carefully enough to solidify his stance with Chloe and meet the key characters, even if the story had already started bending beneath his feet.

Still, he could slightly change the script.

Lucifer turned his attention to the bride. 'Now she's a beauty.'

“I’m sorry, how rude of me. Allow me to introduce myself...”

He extended a hand.

Amanda stared at him for a beat before taking it.

The moment her fingers touched his, the charm settled over her like a velvet noose. Her eyes widened slightly, and the polished mask slipped from her face as a sudden, overwhelming urge to confess rose through her before she could stop it.

“I really don’t want to have sex with him tonight.”

She turned to Jimmy in immediate horror and left Lucifer's hand.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean that!”

Jimmy stared at her, dumbstruck.

Amanda looked just as stunned by her own words.

The guests reacted all at once. Gasps, whispers, sharp laughs quickly smothered behind hands, and the frantic tapping of phones filled the garden. The priest looked like he wanted to melt into the altar cloth.

Lucifer nodded as if this had all been expected.

“Of course you don’t! Let’s be honest here. You’re not marrying this human stain because you’re actually in love with him, right?”

Amanda’s eyes glistened with embarrassment and panic, but the truth still came out.

“God no, I guess it’s more about lifestyle.”

Lucifer gave a sympathetic little grimace.

“Good luck with that. He’s broke.”

Amanda started to cry.

Jimmy’s face twisted with humiliation.

Lucifer’s expression softened slightly as he looked back at Amanda.

“Dry your tears, darling. Wait! Aren't you Amanda Bello? The supermodel from Victoria's Secret?”

Amanda sniffed and nodded.

“Yes. I am.”

Lucifer looked toward Barnes, his grin returning with wicked delight.

“Well, well, you dirty dog.”

Jimmy opened his mouth, but no useful sound came out.

Lucifer then looked toward Amanda and extended his hand again.

“I doubt this wedding is going to happen now. So, why don't you come with me? I'll introduce you to someone better than this old, smelly fart.”

Amanda took it almost instantly.

She was drowning in Lucifer's charm so completely that she didn't think twice. Maybe some part of her knew this was outrageous. Maybe some part of her understood that walking away from her own wedding with a stranger who called himself Lucifer Morningstar would become the kind of headline that followed her for months.

But compared to marrying Jimmy Barnes, it still looked like the better option.

Jimmy stepped forward, furious and humiliated.

“Amanda!”

Amanda looked back at him, tears still on her face.

“I can’t do this. Sorry, Jimmy.”

Jimmy stared at her as if the words had slapped him.

Lucifer tucked Amanda’s hand around his arm and gave the groom one last bright smile.

“Well, we should be going. Best of luck to you, Jimmy. Maybe develop some human emotion before trying to seduce young and beautiful girls while taking viagra.”

A strangled laugh escaped someone in the second row.

Jimmy looked ready to explode.

The priest crossed himself again and turned his eyes toward the sky as if requesting immediate backup.

Lucifer walked down the aisle with Amanda in his arms, leaving Barnes and the guests baffled. Phones followed them. Whispers spread like wildfire. Amanda kept close to him, still shaken, but already looking lighter than she had at the altar.

Lucifer glanced down at her with a charming smile as they passed the last row of guests.

“Come along, darling. Let’s rescue your morning before it becomes legally binding.”

Amanda wiped carefully beneath one eye and gave him a small, overwhelmed laugh.

“Is this really happening?”

Lucifer looked back at the ruined ceremony, Jimmy’s red face, the horrified priest, and the guests who would be talking about this for years.

“Oh, absolutely,” he said with a delighted smile. “And I must say, weddings are far more entertaining when someone tells the truth.”

...

Lucifer opened the passenger door with a flourish that made the whole thing look less like escaping a ruined wedding and more like the beginning of a very expensive scandal. Amanda hesitated for half a second, glancing back toward the garden where phones were still pointed in their direction and Jimmy Barnes looked seconds away from swallowing his own tongue.

“After you, runaway bride,” Lucifer said with a charming smile.

Amanda gave him a shaky laugh before lowering herself into the Corvette, careful with the wedding dress as she gathered the fabric across her lap. Lucifer closed the door gently, then walked around the front of the car. He gave them a cheerful little wave, because if people were going to record him, they deserved a proper performance.

He slid into the driver’s seat and shut the door.

“So,” he said, looking toward Amanda, “clear something up for me. How did a supermodel end up with that human stain? I would prefer an honest answer.”

Lucifer tilted his head slightly, waiting without pushing her, letting the silence stretch just enough for her to fill it herself.

She swallowed, then continued.

“I was let go.”

Lucifer’s brows lifted a fraction, the first real sign of surprise crossing his face.

“Let go?” he repeated, slower now.

Amanda nodded, her voice tightening with embarrassment she had clearly rehearsed hiding in public but never quite mastered in private.

“They said I put on a few pounds. That was it. One season I was walking their runway, the next I was out.”

Lucifer blinked once, then glanced at her properly for the first time since she got into the car.

Amanda Bello looked like something sculpted out of intention and light. Even sitting there, exhausted and shaken, she still carried the effortless symmetry of someone who had lived under cameras for too long.

“That is…” Lucifer started, then paused as if searching for a word that did not insult the universe. “...absolutely absurd. Are they blind?”

Amanda gave a small shrug, but it came out more like surrender than agreement.

“It is the industry,” she said. “They are strict. Height, weight, measurements. If you miss one mark, you are gone."

Lucifer’s grip on the wheel tightened slightly, though his tone stayed deceptively casual.

“And then what? You simply disappear?”

Amanda gave a faint, humorless smile.

“Pretty much. Once you are dropped from a name like that, nobody else wants to take the risk. Agencies do not care if you were great last year. They care about whether you will fit the next campaign perfectly.”

Lucifer sighed.

“So you were discarded,” he said softly, more to himself than her.

Amanda gave a little smile. “That is one way to put it.”

“And Jimmy Barnes?” he asked.

Amanda hesitated before answering.

“I had no options left,” she admitted. “After that, no agency would want me. Jimmy’s label offered connections and a couple of projects. He said he could relaunch me. So I thought… maybe it was better than disappearing completely.”

Her fingers tightened slightly in her lap.

“It was just me trying to survive in the industry because this is the only thing I am good at,” she added.

“That's not survival,” he said. “That's extortion dressed up as opportunity.”

Amanda was surprised by the firmness in his tone.

“You were never the problem. You were just surrounded by people who treated you like a product that could be returned.”

Amanda’s throat tightened slightly, and she looked away, blinking hard as if annoyed by her own reaction.

Lucifer leaned back in his seat. “Well,” he added more lightly, though the anger had not fully left his voice, “that explains the human stain situation.”

He finally pulled the car away from the curb, letting a brief stretch of silence settle between them as the city moved past in the distance.

“You're really going to help me?” she asked softly.

Lucifer glanced at her for a moment before returning his gaze forward. “Not help, more like a favor. You will owe me one.”

Amanda tilted her head slightly, as if the word favor had already started turning into something else in her mind. “Are we going to have sex? I'm still wearing my wedding dress.”

'Don't tempt me, girl,' Lucifer let out a short, amused breath, the corner of his mouth lifting without effort. “Not now, darling. I am really busy today.”

That answer should have ended it.

It did not.

Amanda leaned in closer instead, the distance between them shrinking until her voice brushed against his ear. “Are you sure?” she whispered. "I'm wearing bridal lingerie under this dress and it's hot."

Before he could respond, she kissed the side of his neck, slow and unguarded, like impulse had completely overtaken judgment.

Lucifer eased the car toward a bus stop and brought it to a stop. Then he turned toward her and gently touched her chin, guiding her face so she would meet his eyes properly.

“Meet me at Lux in two days,” he said, voice steady. “We will discuss that favor then. Right now..."

Amanda held his gaze, waiting for something more, something she clearly expected but did not receive. Her expression lingered between hope and frustration, like she was standing at the edge of a door that refused to open further.

Lucifer reached into his pocket and pulled out a bill, placing it into her hand.

“Take a cab home and sleep,” he added. “Do not answer Jimmy’s calls. And if you see him at your door, do not open it. Call the cops.”

Amanda blinked, pulled slightly out of the haze around her. “Huh? Cops?”

Lucifer’s eyes stayed on her, calm but absolute. “Trust me. He's not a good person.”

That broke through it properly.

For the first time since she got into the car, Amanda seemed to fully register how close she had been, how quickly she had moved, and how strangely heavy the atmosphere between them had become. She gave a small, shaky nod, accepting the bill.

“Thank you,” she said quietly. 'Get a grip, girl. HE IS SO FUCKING HOT! Damn it! I'm drippin' down there.'

Lucifer gave a faint nod in return, then let her go.

She stepped out of the car and looked around for a cab. She looked back once as if expecting him to call her again.

He did not.

Lucifer waited until she got into a cab and then drove toward the rapper's house.

...

...

[2Vile's Estate]

Lucifer stepped out of his car first, smoothing his suit as if the entire encounter had already been scheduled and merely needed his attendance. He pressed the doorbell.

The sound that followed was a deep, ceremonial GONG that rolled through the mansion like it was announcing something far more important than a drug dealer’s afternoon schedule.

A moment later, the door opened.

A white English butler stood perfectly framed in the doorway, posture straight, expression neutral, the kind of man who had clearly witnessed too much wealth to still be impressed by it.

“Good afternoon, sir,” the butler said.

Lucifer gave him a polite nod. “I’m here to see the man sadly known as 2Vile. Is he in?”

“I’m afraid he is unavailable,” the butler replied. “He is currently in mourning.”

Lucifer tilted his head slightly. “How unfortunate. I have narcotics for him.”

There was a beat of silence.

The butler’s expression did not change, but something in his decision-making clearly did.

“Right this way, sir.”

Lucifer smiled as he followed him inside.

The interior of 2Vile’s home was exactly what he expected and somehow still worse in execution. Modern art furniture that looked stolen from a museum, skyline views that screamed money, and a living room designed entirely around the concept of being seen rather than being lived in.

The bass from loud hip-hop rattled through the walls. Smoke hung in the air like a permanent resident. Weapons, weed, and designer chaos were scattered across every surface like props in a lifestyle documentary that had gotten out of hand.

A giant plasma screen played breaking news.

Delilah’s shooting.

Lucifer’s eyes flicked to it for half a second before he sighed.

“Could someone please turn down this godawful music?”

The request barely registered with the room.

Then movement shifted through the haze.

2Vile appeared.

Tattooed, expensive, irritated, and surrounded by the kind of aura that tried very hard to look dangerous without actually understanding what danger meant. He stared at Lucifer like he had wandered in from the wrong genre.

“Who’s this clown?” he asked.

The butler answered calmly. “He has narcotics for you, sir.”

Lucifer smiled. “My name is Lucifer Morningstar.”

That got a reaction.

2Vile leaned back slightly. “Lucifer Morningstar. That’s a good hip hop name.”

Lucifer blinked once, offended on principle. “That is not a compliment I enjoy receiving.”

“What, you don’t like hip hop?”

“Not in the slightest,” Lucifer replied immediately.

A beat passed.

2Vile frowned. “That offends me. You got a problem with black people?”

Lucifer’s smile sharpened just a fraction. “Not in the slightest. I simply dislike your music. And when I say your music, I mean yours specifically. Without the blues, there would be no devil's music at all, and there are many giants in the field of artistry. You are not among them. Am I being clear?”

Silence dropped hard into the room.

Then 2Vile’s expression darkened.

“You’re gonna get yourself killed.”

Lucifer’s body moved before the threat fully finished forming.

One second he was standing casually, the next he was inside the man’s space. A sharp shove followed. 2Vile went crashing through a glass door and out toward the balcony, the impact loud enough to snap the entire room into panic.

Someone fired a shot on instinct.

The bullet hit nothing but air and railing.

“Don’t shoot him, you idiot!” 2Vile screamed as Lucifer caught him mid-collapse by his chains and hauled him up over the balcony edge.

2Vile dangled, held only by the grip on his expensive jewelry.

Lucifer looked down at him.

“I didn’t put a hit on her!” 2Vile shouted.

“Why should I believe you?” Lucifer asked.

“Because I loved her!”

That gave Lucifer pause, though only briefly.

“People in love are often quite creative when it comes to violence,” he said. “Or attempts at it.”

“Girl made me crazy!”

Lucifer lowered him a little further, just enough to remind him gravity still existed.

“That does tend to happen,” he said casually. “Does not excuse beating her.”

“Hey, hey, we worked that out,” 2Vile rushed. “I only hit her once. She was cheating on me.”

Lucifer lifted him back up slightly, studying him with sudden focus.

“With whom?”

“I don’t know! Some rich married guy. She never told me.”

“Anyone she trusted?”

“Her therapist. Dr. Linda. Beverly Hills. Saw her all the time. Fake name and everything.”

Lucifer’s gaze sharpened. 'Finally, Linda. Things are going great so far.'

Then something shifted in 2Vile’s face. The anger drained, replaced by something messier.

“Man,” he muttered, “sometimes I get tired of fronting. I just wanted to marry her. Have a kid. She was the one.”

Lucifer’s expression went flat.

“And yet here you are,” he said quietly. “Instead of being with her when she needed you most.”

That landed.

2Vile broke into tears.

The crew went silent in horror as their boss started crying like a man suddenly realizing consequences were real.

Lucifer watched him for a moment, unimpressed but not unkind.

“Interesting emotional range,” he said. “You should use that emotion in your music. Or at least change your name. What did your mother call you?”

2Vile sniffed. “Percy. Percy Wallace.”

Lucifer paused.

Then sighed, "Never mind. Good luck with what’s left of your short-lived career."

He dropped him back onto the balcony and turned away.

That was when the voice cut in.

“Guns down! On the floor!”

Chloe Decker.

Lucifer turned just in time to see her enter, weapon drawn, expression locked into professional focus. Two rookies trailed behind her, and the entire room froze under her command.

Lucifer’s face lit up.

“You sly dog,” he said. “You did listen to me.”

'What's this lunatic doing here?' Chloe barely glanced at him. “Ran the victim’s phone. Your drug dealer was the last call.”

2Vile exploded instantly. “Oh come on!”

Chloe ignored him and stepped further inside, kicking weapons aside as she moved. “Talk to me about Delilah.”

Lucifer tried to interject. “Yes, yes, we have already covered this.”

She shot him a look that could have stopped traffic.

He stopped talking.

Chloe turned back to 2Vile. “Why did you call Eddie Deacon two days before the shooting?”

“Because he hooks me up sometimes!” 2Vile snapped. “He met Delilah through me. That’s it.”

“The hit?”

“I didn’t put a hit on her!”

Chloe’s gaze narrowed. “That still makes you a suspect.”

2Vile gestured wildly. “So everyone on his phone is a suspect now? You gonna arrest half Hollywood?”

One of his crew suddenly leaned forward. “Wait. Aren’t you that chick from that film?”

The room shifted.

Lucifer perked up immediately. “Oh? Which film?”

The crew member pointed. “You used to be an actress or something, right? That teen movie... I forget what it’s called..."

Chloe tried to hide it, but she’s literally dying right now.  And Lucifer saw it.

Lucifer said, "Of course! Hot Tub High School! That’s where I know you from!"

Chloe cut in instantly. “Let's just stick to my question, shall we?"

Lucifer ignored her and continued, "The one with that famous nude scene! Coming out of the hot tub. It was a complete Fast Times rip-off, but you were like, the new Phoebe Cates. That was quite a nude scene."

Chloe put her hand on her gun. "I’ve got way too many bullets in here for you to still be talking." She then turned toward the rapper. “Come on. You’re under arrest.”

“That is a waste of time, Detective,” Lucifer said smoothly. “I’ve just dangled him down the balcony. He is absolutely not our shooter. If he were, he would have told me already. Trust me.”

Chloe blinked once.

“You did what?”

2Vile, still half-dragged out of his balcony meltdown, pointed at Lucifer in immediate outrage. “Yeah, isn’t that illegal or something?”

Chloe did not even look at him.

“Uh, yes. It is,” she muttered, already reaching for her cuffs instead of her gun. “Alright then. You. Come with me.”

Before Lucifer could protest, metal snapped around his wrists.

For a brief second, silence settled in.

Then Lucifer smiled.

“Ooh,” he said softly, testing the cuffs with a small pull. “With pleasure.”

Chloe yanked him forward like she expected resistance. She got none. That alone was irritating.

Lucifer simply walked, calm and unbothered, as if being arrested was an unexpected upgrade to his day rather than a consequence of it.

"Looks like someone's into roleplay."

Chloe simply shook her head at his comment.

...

...

Minutes later, outside 2Vile’s estate, the late afternoon sun reflected harshly off the sleek black police cruiser.

Chloe guided Lucifer toward the back seat and opened the door.

Lucifer paused before getting in.

“At least now,” he said casually, “perhaps you will listen to me. Though I still fail to understand why I am the one being arrested.”

Chloe did not look impressed as she held the door open.

“Because you interfered with a police investigation,” she said. “And because you have broken so many laws I have stopped counting. And because you are annoying.”

Lucifer tilted his head slightly.

“I can get out of these, you know.”

Chloe gave him a dry look. “Funny.”

There was a soft click, then another.

Lucifer took the cuff and held it before her like they were a minor inconvenience he had politely resolved.

Chloe took the cuff, looking surprised.

“How did you do that?” she asked. “You some kind of magician or something?”

Lucifer offered a small shrug.

“Let us just say I have flexible wrists and a disappointing respect for your hardware.”

Chloe narrowed her eyes.

“That makes no sense.”

“Very little about me does at first,” Lucifer replied. "Anyway, you’re still wasting time. We should be out there solving a homicide and punishing those responsible!"

Chloe said, "We? Are you insane? Get in the car. I’m taking you in."

Lucifer said, "But that’s boring! Not to mention pointless. Come on, I’ll help you, it’ll be fun!"

"How could you possibly help me?"

"You’d be surprised. I have a certain skill set. I can be very persuasive with people. Tend to see things others cannot."

"So you're a psychic?"

"No. I can’t read people’s minds. I’m not a Jedi. People tell me things," He said with a confident smile.

"Really? Just... confess their sins? Just like that?" She asked with a sigh.

"No, not their sins. I have no power over people’s sins. I actually get a bad rap for that. But their desires, different thing entirely. I have the ability to draw out people’s forbidden desires. Tempt them. Taunt them. The more simple the human, the easier it is. The more complex? The more challenging and exciting, really. But your actual sins? The sins are on you people..." Lucifer explained his ability.

"I get it. The name. The whole Lucifer thing..." Chloe said sarcastically as she made a hand gesture. "...and desire’s like, your super power."

"More like a gift from God," Lucifer said, the truth which, by mortal standards, was really hard to believe.

Chloe gave him a deadpan look.

"Look, I’m just a people person. They feel compelled to share things with me. And why wouldn’t they, really? I’m pretty awesome," Lucifer complimented himself.

"Yeah? Prove it," Chloe looked into his eyes.

"That I’m awesome? Isn’t it obvious?" Lucifer said as he looked deeply into her eyes. "Tell me, Detective. What do you desire more than anything in this life?"

'I wonder if I have the same weakness as the OG Lucifer?' He thought.

Chloe sighs. But then her eyes suddenly lock with his, and she was mesmerized...

"I guess, when I was a little girl, I always wanted to be a cop like my daddy, so that one day, I could help people..."

Then she dropped her act.

"...and make them shut up and get in the damn car!"

'Damn it. So, she really is my weakness. Great.' He thought.

"You’re not like a Jedi or something, are you?" He asked.

"Get in the car," Chloe said, looking really fed up with him.

"Wait. I know something you don’t know."

"Yeah? What’s that?"

"Won’t say. Unless you take me with you on this. Please? Come on, I got to 2VILE, didn’t I?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You’re unbelievable."

Chloe squints at him. "Huh. You don’t strike me as a celebrity stalker. You aren’t related to her. You weren’t sleeping with her, were you?"

"Surprisingly, no."

"Then why do you care about this so much? About Delilah? I heard you even put her in the best room and even paid for all the expenses at the hospital. You even assigned private guards. So...?" Chloe asked.

"Do I really need a reason to care for someone who was shot right before my eyes?" Lucifer asked.

Chloe noticed a slight change in his tone and expression. It was like a new side of him. "Fine. But if your little clue doesn’t pan out," She held up the cuffs. "I’m puttin’ these back on, and they’re gonna stay on."

Lucifer cracked a smile, nodded. She got in the car and he got in the back seat. Both of them were growing more and more intrigued with the other...
