Got some more progress on Kurt this evening. I’ve been really indecisive with this one so I keep adjusting things before moving forward, but I’m now happy with the face so I can move onto rendering the rest.
Really had some fun with hair. I wanted it to be very sexy, curly, but also slicked back. Kinda mullety. Like Steve Harrington on a date. What’s funny, is the only face ref I grabbed was of Penn Badgley, but I think he ended up looking more like Tyler Posey, which honestly works for me. I wasn’t trying to go for any strong like-ness when I grabbed face ref, but I wanted to see what I could pull from photos to keep him from looking generic.
That’s a great tip btw, if you struggle with your faces looking same-y or generic. Grab photos of actors, your friends, whoever, to incorporate features or proportions you don’t normally gravitate to when you work from your head.
