It's been a good few weeks since I last posted an update, and here I am.
In short, there's been a nice bit of progress on the next episode. But due to the nature of my work and how much I focus on getting things right, it will take time.
There was... a lot of content to be made to fulfill what House of Hearts must fulfill:
First, it must stand on its own as a contained experience. Next, it must do the job of storytelling and world-building that its prequel couldn't cover due to how limited the scope of Game of Hearts was. Things that should have been in the prequel must then be shown in the sequel. That meant a lot of content that must be gradually included so as not to bloat and slow down the pacing to a crawl.
There were a lot of questions left unanswered. And if I approach House of Hearts the same way I approach Game of Hearts, it would remain unanswered.
That, combined with character interactions, relationships, and growth, resulted in one hell of an endeavor to piece everything together. It was difficult, but frankly, I learned so much in the pursuit of this direction I was going for.
And as a result, I think the quality of renders, story, and how much closer my results were to my vision was a gift I never could've expected. Some said pressure made diamonds, and while I don't think I've quite crystallized my full potential yet... I've grown a ton since the initial release.
Every day, I try to find something to be better at. Every day, I'd dare say I did.
There was so much more care, attention, and deliberate execution in how each scene was made. The same effort also went into the script; they both go hand-in-hand.
There was much less of "just get things done" and much more of "how to get things done correctly."
Yes, this does mean more effort. And time But it was an effort and time that should've been given from the first day this project went live. I couldn't quite do so in Game of Hearts... But I could in House of Hearts.
I hope you can be patient enough to wait. And I can't believe how lucky I was to be in this position to turn what I had in mind into reality.
I truly do not wish to rush it; Rushing will damage House of Hearts much, much more than not.
Thank you for your continued support!
