Hi all! I know it's been a while since I last updated you on the progress.
While there isn't much new to be said, I am also on the cusp of finishing the second big scene. That makes 2/3 of the larger, self-contained scenes completed, leaving the final one for Helena. She would take center stage soon.
To make things clearer, not every big scene is an intimate scene. There are more characters, after all, and they all need their own spotlight to shine. Karly and Ceryl's relevance grows as the story moves forward, and eventually, their significance will be apparent once the gears start turning.
Karly's role has been relatively small so far. But she won't quite be as quiet as she was this time.
Though I am tackling something new for this. I've never done a real action/fight scene before, and I wish to dip my toes into that pool before eventually doing fight scenes for real.
And... of course, these are stories about angels and demons, so expect something outside of just punches and kicks....
...But I'll keep the cooler things for you to see once the next part is released. I think I have shown so, so much about the next chapter at this point.
Though I have noticed my computer slowing down lately. Renders are just taking a minute or two longer than usual.
Release date when?
While progress has been steady, the volume of work of House of Hearts is so much more immense than Game of Hearts. I believe I will be able to estimate a release date come the next project update; at that point, the majority of things I wish to include would've been done. I have made incorrect guesses and found myself rushing things to completion, an act that would've harmed the project a lot more than a slow release.
I've come to understand the sheer weight of expectation put into this project, both from the players, and even more so from myself. At this point, anything short of great would be perceived as a disappointment.
And greatness is not something that comes easy, nor does it come without a price. I can't promise that it'll be incredible, but I can promise that I'll give it my 100% to make it happen.
Please be patient. If it's any consolation, I am extremely satisfied with the part 2's content so far, a lot more than the previous releases. You might be surprised by how much growth I've accrued over the past few months.
