Two Days of Chaos, What You Missed and What Comes Next

DESCRIPTION

We opened Gulpr for just two days. Then we panicked a little and closed it again.Sorry about that.

But wow.

Here is what happened in that very small window of time

542 users registered• 202 characters were created• 166 pets were collared• 1,191 of you were eaten.. yum!• 9,916 gallery images were liked• 10,000 plus images were uploaded• 58,870 messages were sent• 4,000 plus people joined the waitlistAnd Some of you got quite creative...

So Yeah. That escalated quickly.

It is safe to say you really enjoyed the time Gulpr was online.

So what is next

Scalability is the obvious one.But it is not the only thing we have been working on.

Below is a look at what is planned next and how things are changing going forward.

Patreon Rewards Rework

We have heard you loud and clear. The Patreon tiers have been completely reworked.

All users will have the same core site access

• Character slots• Pet slots• Stomach slots

Supporting Gulpr will not affect how the site functions for interaction or roleplay.

Being a supporter now affects

• Gallery upload limits• Maximum file sizes• Profile flair and visual customization• Early access to testing new site features before public release

This system is still evolving and we are very open to feedback. If you have ideas for supporter perks that feel fair and useful, please tell us.

Perma Mode

Perma Mode has always existed as a Gulpr site feature. It just was not working as intended... at all..

Here is how it is meant to work.

Once a character is enabled for Perma Mode, it is permanent. There is no undo.

If that character is digested, churned, or otherwise finished, that character is gone.

You will not be able to interact with that character anymore.

You can switch characters as normal, however the character slot itself is placed on a cooldown. This means you cannot immediately create a new character in that slot, which helps prevent rapid character cycling or spam.

That character will then appear on the predator’s profile as a trophy.

Clicking a trophy character will show lifetime statistics. These will differ depending on whether the character was a predator, prey, or switch.

The goal here is to add weight and meaning to character loss, rather than treating characters as disposable profiles.Edit:The perma system is entirely opt in. It can be disabled at any point, and users who do not wish to engage with it will not see it. A character is only treated as perma if it is deliberately flagged as such during creation. We will continue to monitor how the system is used on release and adjust or remove it if it causes issues.

NSFW and SFW Profile Toggles

We are expanding the site wide content rating system.

Whenever you upload content such as avatars, gallery images, or banners, you will be required to mark the appropriate rating.

Byte is very spicy...

Users will be able to maintain two versions of their profileA standard versionAnd an Afterdark version that can be toggled on or off

This helps avoid opening the site and immediately being greeted by someone’s... well you know ;)

Content ratings help users shape their own Gulpr experience and stay within their comfort zone.

Endo Friend'o Options

We understand that not everyone wants the same experience when browsing Gulpr.

We are building toggle systems that work alongside account settings and content ratings so users can opt out of things like digestion related content while still using the site.

This system is still being refined and we are very open to suggestions on how to improve it.

Blocking Improvements

Blocking is being rebuilt properly.

When you block someone on GulprThey are completely removed from your experience.

• Their profile• Their content• Any interactions past or future

They will not be able to view you or your content, and you will not see theirs.

This gives users full control over their space on the site.

Expanded Prey Interactions

Prey interactions are being expanded beyond passive participation.

Planned additions include

• Interactive digestion momentsPredators can trigger active digestion which opens a small interactive moment for prey directly within the chat interface

• Devour Me requestsPrey can initiate vore sessions themselves by sending an invite to a predator

• Counter offersWhen receiving a vore session invite, prey can suggest a different vore type before accepting

• In session prey actionsWiggleStruggleSubmitTauntSquirmNuzzleAnd more

• Reform requestsAfter digestion, prey can request the predator to reform them instead of using instant self reformThis adds an extra roleplay step while remaining optional

Taunting System

Some of you enjoy tempting fate.

The taunt system allows prey to send a quick poke to a predator.Think of it as a playful nudge rather than a full interaction.

For now.

Refunds

We want to be clear that we are still offering refunds, no questions asked.

If you supported us and feel unsure or uncomfortable, that is completely okay.Just reach out and we will sort it.

[email protected] Last Thing

The past two days have been a lot for us.

We have seen an incredible amount of excitement, kindness, creativity, and genuine support. So many of you showed up with enthusiasm, patience, and care, and that meant more to us than we can easily put into words. At the same time, we also saw the less pleasant side of things.

With the sudden growth came moments of harassment, bullying, and behaviour that crossed lines, along with the spread of misinformation. This affected not just the wider community, but us as a team as well. It was not the response we hoped for or intended, and it has impacted our mental health quite a bit over the last couple of days.

We also saw users being targeted, mocked, or harassed simply for sharing their opinions or trying to ask genuine questions. That is not something we ever want to see in this community.

Disagreement is okay.Questions are okay.Criticism is okay.

Attacking each other is not.

Please be mindful that there are real people on the other side of the screen. Everyone is coming at this from different places, and a little patience and kindness goes a long way.

We care deeply about this project, and about the people using it. We are not walking away from it.

We are using this pause to slow down, regroup, and put better systems in place so that when Gulpr returns, it is a space that feels safer, clearer, and more respectful for everyone involved, including the people building it.

The response has shown us that Gulpr is wanted. Now we just need to make sure it is built in a way that can actually support that growth without hurting the people behind it or the community around it.

It will take time, but we will get there.Thank you for sticking with us while we do.
