WE'VE BEEN REALLY BUSY, WE'RE SORRY!!!
Hey everyone!
We wanted to give you a proper little update on what we’ve been working on behind the scenes for Gulpr.
Things have been a bit quieter than we would have liked, and development has been slower in places because we’ve been dealing with a bunch of extremely boring, very annoying, but sadly very necessary issues in the background.
You know. The glamorous stuff.
Platform stability.Optimization.Interaction systems.Fixing things that decided to explode for no reason.Making sure the groundwork we build now does not turn into a cursed spaghetti monster later.
Not exactly the most exciting thing to post about, but it is the kind of work that makes Gulpr smoother, faster, easier to expand, and hopefully much less likely to randomly perish.
Very important. Very responsible.
Horribly boring.
We’ve Been Bringing More Life To Gulpr
Alongside all the serious behind the scenes work, we’ve also been experimenting with something much more fun:
✨Custom animations✨
These are little animated scenes that feature your avatar, directly in Gulpr interactions.
The goal is to make the platform feel less static and more alive. Instead of things just happening through buttons, text, or mysterious backend... things, we want Gulpr to have those tiny animated moments that make interactions feel more playful, personal, and expressive.
Basically:
The orbs are getting personality.
This may have been a mistake.
Little Scenes, Silly Situations
We are currently working on animations that play out as part of different interactions across the platform.
Eventually, we want these to include both willing and non willing versions of each animation, but for now we are mostly focusing on building and testing the basic versions first.
We need to figure out what reads clearly, what feels fun, and what does not look like two PNGs having a medical emergency.
Here are a few we’ve created so far.
Big thanks to our “volunteers” haha...Please remember, these are all work in progress and are not final.
gulp~
The Good News
We’ve now built a really nice foundation for these animations.
That means we can add, edit, and expand them much more easily going forward. Once the base system is in place, creating more of these becomes a lot quicker, which is exactly what we want.
They are also lightweight and pretty well optimized, so they do not take up many resources. That fits nicely with the other optimization work we’ve been doing across the site.
So technically, this is not just us making funny little vore scenes.
It is also responsible development.
Probably.
The Hard Part Is...
Finding what actually works.
Some interactions are very easy to show in a fun, readable way.
Others are...
A problem... A funny problem... A concerning problem...
At the moment, we are especially struggling with two types of vore:
Unbirth
Cockvore
The Cockvore Situation
For cockvore, one idea we had was having the prey pushed “downwards ;)” and then, on hover, the scene pans down below the character to show the squirms.
Which works.
Technically.
But it does not feel quite as fun or expressive as some of the others yet. It needs a little more personality. A little more chaos. A little more “oh no, the orb has made a decision.”
We are still poking at it... slosh slosh ;P
The Unbirth Situation
And then there is unbirth.
We have no idea.
None.
The orb council is silent.
So we would genuinely love suggestions for how to showcase it in a fun, readable way, especially with our silly little orb style.
Nothing too overcomplicated, nothing impossible to animate, just something that feels visually clear.
We Want Your Feedback
We would really love to hear what you think about these animations.
Do they make Gulpr feel more alive?
Do they add personality to the platform?
Do they make interactions feel more fun?
Or do you feel like we are spending development time teaching orbs how to misbehave when we should be focusing elsewhere?
Let us know.
Your feedback genuinely helps shape what we focus on next, and we want Gulpr to feel like something that is not just functional, but fun to use, fun to watch, and full of little moments that make you go:
“oh no”
In a good way.
