We wanted to share a concept we have been playing around with for Gulpr. This is not a confirmed final system yet, and some details may change, but we wanted to show the idea early and hear what people think.

The basic idea is a Shop where users can spend Bytes, our planned in app currency, on cosmetics and usable items that make Gulpr more fun, more interactive, and a bit more unpredictable.

Before anyone panics, the shop is currently planned to be 100% free. No paid coins, no premium currency, and no weird “buy 500 gems to unlock basic fun” stuff. Bytes would be earned inside Gulpr by actually using the platform, taking part in events, unlocking achievements, testing features, being active, and doing things around the app.

The shop would include a mix of cosmetics and usable items.

Cosmetics

Cosmetics would be things like profile themes, borders, badges, avatar effects, backgrounds, stickers, accessories, and other little extras that let you make your profile feel more like yours.

We want profiles to have more personality. Some people might want something cute and clean, some might want something flashy, and some of you are absolutely going to make something questionable the second we give you the tools. We know what community this is ;)

Usable items

This is where the shop gets a lot more interesting.

Usable items would be things you can spend Bytes on to affect sessions and interactions in fun ways. For example, you could buy a Shrink Ray and use it to shrink your prey. Completely sensible item. Nothing concerning there.

You could also buy something like Anti Acid, which could pause digestion for a little while and give the prey more time to enjoy the situation, panic about it, or get far too comfortable. Depends on the person.

The point of these items is not to make sessions unfair or annoying. We want them to add more choice, more surprises, and more silly moments that make interactions feel less static. Something that gives sessions a bit more personality beyond just clicking a button and watching the same thing happen every time.

Collars and balance

We have also been thinking about adding things like Collars to the shop instead of making them a normal option that can be thrown around constantly.

The reason for that is balance. If certain interaction items/Options are always available with no thought behind them, they can get spammed very quickly and stop feeling special. By putting some of those items in the shop, they still stay free because Bytes are earned in app, but they have a bit more value behind them.

It also means people have to choose what they want to spend their Bytes on. Maybe you save for something rare. Maybe you buy useful session items. Maybe you buy a collar immediately and reveal far too much about yourself. That is between you and your purchase history.

This should help keep interactions fun without letting certain features become annoying or overused.

Why Bytes?

We like the idea of Bytes because it gives Gulpr its own little economy without turning it into a cash shop. You would earn Bytes inside Gulpr, spend them inside Gulpr, collect items, unlock cosmetics, grab event items, and eventually trade with other users.

That future trading side is something we are really interested in. Being able to trade cosmetics, usable items, rare event items, and other collectibles could make Gulpr feel much more alive. It gives people more to do, more to collect, and more reasons to come back.

Not real money.

The goal

The main goal is to make Gulpr more fun, more interactive, and more balanced.

We want people to have more things to earn, more ways to customise their profile, and more ways to make sessions feel different each time. Cosmetics give people more ways to express themselves, usable items give sessions more variety, and Bytes give the platform a little economy we can keep expanding over time.

Again, this is just a concept right now. Nothing here is final yet. We are sharing it because we think it could be a really fun direction, and we want feedback before we go too far with it.
