And that's how it all began: I wanted to produce photo series, photo spreads for magazines. And I had learned that this should be better prepared. So I wanted to do everything right. And I planned everything for days, weeks.
The plan worked out, it was a fantastic production. And how openly and warmly I was welcomed in Fuerteventura still inspires me today. That's why I keep going back there to take photographs.
I really wanted to work with a VW van and mount the surfboard on the roof. The owner simply pressed the car keys into my hand and said "please." Simply incredible. No deposit, no collateral, pure trust towards a stranger. He didn't even want to see my driver's license.
I don't need to say much about Mia: She's a dream woman. Slim, well-groomed, incredibly sexy. What more could you want?
I've tried photographing surfer girls many more times, but I never came close to that first time again. It was too special.
