Marta, Frankfurt, 2007
Marta was my first real nude model. One who knew her way around. Who had more experience than I did. She's tall and a real presence with her red hair. She came from Poland, the nude modeling mecca of the early 2000s.
With her I could express myself creatively, she went along with every idea. And when the 25h Hotel in Frankfurt opened and was the first hotel with colorful hallways at the time, I got the idea to photograph Marta with different styling to match the hallways.
I didn't exactly have permission. I mean, I had booked a room and they knew I was taking photos. But then we just did it. I took my monster-heavy ring flash with battery pack (as heavy as a car battery) and walked through the hotel with Marta. We didn't encounter anyone and it had its thrill, I have to say.
Good thing I did it back then. Because today I'm much too mature and would never dare do something like that again.
