Magic can be such a tricky thing.
The focus of this animation is shrinking. There are two versions- one with no dialogue, and one with dialogue and minor vfx, labeled v2. The second version is something of a bonus. This animation was an experiment in using environment assets for scenes.
I had a ton of trouble with lighting this scene as well as many others. I learned something super important about scaling that seems to be a common pitfall for beginners of 3D animation. Lesson learned, along with more lighting related techniques. I also had quite a bit of trouble with the rig this time around but have learned from that as well.
Originally, the story was that the Black Mage was casting Mini, but I realized at the last moment that Mini is actually a white magic spell! That is why the narrative plays out a bit differently. That said, I hope you will enjoy it all the same.
I may attempt to re-use this character again in the future, as I find her endearing.
