Fuck-Li [DRAWING TIME]
THIS. Right here.
This is probably the best body I've ever drawn. At least, that's how I see it.
When I was thinking about which version of Chun-Li to draw and what pose to put her in, I remembered a piece by a talented artist, HoneyBread.
Since I consider myself a self-proclaimed student of every artist in the third image (they're basically my study material - I spend a lot of time analyzing the visual side of their work and picking up techniques I can apply to my own), HoneyBread included, there was no way I could ignore one of his Chun-Li pieces. So I used it as my reference. You can actually see it right there on the canvas.
There's no proper lineart here. I just cleaned up the sketch enough to make the lines readable.
Looking at it from a distance, I can already spot a few proportion issues and little mistakes. But that's just drawing. Trying to fix every tiny flaw is a losing battle. Sometimes it's better to leave the mistakes alone and move on instead of sinking hours into polishing them.
That's one of the things I love most about HoneyBread's style. The drawings are deceptively simple. The lineart is loose. The shading is straightforward. Coloring tends to spill outside the lineart. But somehow it all looks cool.
If you really master that kind of approach, your drawing speed and efficiency go through the roof.
