Petra the civet kinda steals the show here. I was still exploring her as a character and trying to get inside her head. We have the initial sketches for "Coffee and Wifi", which I intended as a pun on Blur's "Coffee and TV" and the song fits the mood I was going for pretty well.
I've lived with recurrent depression since I was about 12 years old, and at the time of drawing this I was going into a fairly severe and lengthy struggle with it. Some of this is just my brain's natural tendencies, and some of it was learning lessons about investing too much into toxic relationships. I don't like using the word "toxic" because it's annoyingly vague and dismissive, but in this case I think it fits just fine. Vent art doesn't generally give me a lot of satisfaction, but Petra proved to be a pretty good conduit, insofar as I'd allow her to be.
