The days are shorter and there's that distinctive chill in the air. Maybe you've even noticed, yourself. With only two more shopping weeks til Christmas, I'm getting in the spirit by drawing my favorite ice-type. I promise she's not cold -- this is a Glaceon in her element.
Since JakeRabbit brought up shape work in a comment on the last post, I want to mention that gesture is intimately linked with it. The second page of sketches shows the kind of gesture lines I use to decide how the whole pose is laid out, making sure the curve of the hip and thigh is accentuated, also giving the far breast a chance to silhouette nicely. This is mostly just a consequence of messy scribbling, but it's where the flow energy is at its strongest. Then it's a matter of holding onto that energy through the rest of the process.
