On this page, there’s a prep sketch of Anastasia the arctic fox. This turned into “Yiff & Nomz”, which is a painful pun on the UMO album “Sex & Food”, which itself very loosely inspired the layout (FA | e621). There’s also a couple fossa sketches at the bottom, which turned into “Endless Summer” (FA | e621). Both girls badly want some more attention, and if they're not content with cameos they'll need to wait a bit...
Waterproof phone cases are popular with otters for all the obvious reasons, but how they wear them leaves some room for personal preference. Lanyard-style around the neck is probably a little cumbersome but it’s easy to do some browsing in your downtime while fishing the shallows. It strikes me that, especially for same-sex groups in which long days are spent in unremarkable nudity, the betrayal of idle excitement isn’t really all that scandalous. And while it’s hard not to notice that kind of unabashed swelling, apparently it’s what’s on his screen that arouses more curiosity. This was on its way to becoming a full scene before I tabled it, but the idea never went away.
Further down are some more aquatic mammals. I have a vague and recurring interest in seals, but this rarely progresses beyond exploratory sketches. I think it's that they somehow manage to be graceful and ungainly at the same time. Short fur gives them smooth lines and gentle curves, but they’ve got a lot of weight to throw around between those wide hips and ponderous breasts. At least the way I want to draw them. I do wonder if a head of hair would clash with the sleek look too much…
Putting some finishing touches on the martens, so sit tight :)
