DESCRIPTION

I've been writing JJK themed stuff a lil too much. Anyway, as ever, Shadows and Draconic x Delusion remain the main works.

His last memory was painfully boring.

Standing in line at a local Starbucks where the staff had grown an inexplicable grudge against him after he tossed the number the receptionist passed him into a trash can. The toss had been perfect. He'd saved both himself and her time to boot.

Then, darkness swept up his vision.

If that was death's grasp, then he felt it was only fitting.

A boring end to an utterly boring life.

Only, the darkness did end up receding.

He opened his eyes to the kind of living room someone like him only ever got to witness on the TV. That much was apparent from the furniture alone, the expensive dark wood set of sofas set up in the living with a sleek table set up in between. Then, there was the fireplace blazing beside him.

The paintings of old and smug people felt oddly judgy.

His personal taste ill-agreed with the beige tone to every wall and cushion, even the floor.

"Did I get kidnapped by some rich person?"

Once he considered the idea, it seemed a lot more sensical compared to dying and waking up in a different world like he'd been hoping. He could only sigh sadly, resting both his hands atop his cane... wait, cane?

More than intrigued, he held the cane with both hands, and raised it to his eyes.

"Well, that's an interesting design choice."

There was a silver skull for a handle atop a red shaft and a rounded silver tip.

More than that, the cane felt incredibly familiar to his eye.

Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, he felt it. An unbridled power welling up from within the depths of his very being. The cane began to groan, and a great pressure made him remove his hands lest his very arms explode.

He looked at his right hand, then at his left.

There were two different powers within each. Immense, but opposing enough to cause a deeply violent reaction if they interacted.

Beside the power, an awesome excitement began to well up within his heart. His face showed none of it as he stepped over to one of the closed windows and pulled aside the curtains. Outside, the Sun had set, but there was enough of a reflection for him to get a good look at himself.

Pale, sickly skin and red eyes heavy with bags. The face-... his face, was handsome enough to look at, but more than that, so terribly familiar. A shaggy mop of black hair fell over his eyes. He turned to the side, and found pointed ears.

His clothes were that of a priest's. A thick dark coat that went down to his feet, and a mantle with two silver pins on the collar. Purple liturgical vestments flowed down his shoulders, and the length of his robes. Black crosses were hewn into the silky fabric.

Everything clicked then.

He knew who he'd woken as.

"Beelzebub. Lord of the Flies." He tugged at his lips, and pinched his own cheek. "Baal-Zebul. Satan. From Record of Ragnarok."

That name sounded much cooler than his last one too.

He'd been a powerful deity, fighting on the side of the Gods against humanity's chosen champions in some strange interpretation of Ragnarok. The manga had been interesting enough to read up until a certain point, and he was intimately familiar with both the character and the power he now held as Beelzebub.

The prospect of waking up as him was also not an entirely foreign one.

All he felt was excitement.

Then, to make certain that his 'rebirth' as Beelzebub wasn't restrained to appearance alone. He raised his right hand. His body began to vibrate at an immense speed, enough that his hand looked like it wasn't moving at all.

If he remembered right, it was Beelzebub himself who trained his power in a way that the vibrations of his right and left hands were each of a different sort, to maximise their potency. Then, was he at the crux of the deity's power now?

"How joyful."

What weeb wouldn't sell his very soul for a chance at larping at something like this?

With a thought, the energy transferred to the air. Where his hand passed, the world was sent out of whack. The sudden entrance of energy at that perfect frequency began to produce resonances.

"The right hand was for offense, right?"

He waved his hand casually.

The vibration was like a wave of raw force surging outwards. The furniture exploded into splinters. The wall was blown apart, and the trees outside were cleaved entirely. Even then, the wave carried on. Thankfully, there was only air for it to pass through.

It was like breathing.

"Oops."

With a frown, he stepped over to the only intact sofa and sat down, resting both hands atop the cane he now recognised to be his staff. Both fortunately, and unfortunately, there was no sudden surge of memories of his life as a deity. His very flesh knew his power, but that was the extent of it.

"Where even am I?"

Rin Tohsaka was a genius.

She was an Average One, capable of using any of the Five Great Elements that governed all magecraft, and the lady of the famed Tohsaka Family whose great ancestor was Schweinorg. As such, there was no need for her to go through the troubles of painstakingly finding a catalyst for her servant.

Rin's plan was one without flaws.

She would perform the summoning at the perfect time, and provide the ritual with enough mana that the system would be forced to provide her a servant of the strongest class, a Saber. She trusted her abilities and luck enough to leave the choice of the heroic spirit a complete mystery. Knowing her, the hero would definitely be powerful enough.

At least, powerful enough that even a mere copy of their person would DEMAND the sort of powerful vessel only the Saber class had.

Only, nothing had come.

She drew the formation, gave the mana and said the words perfectly. The ritual even lit up. She certainly felt a portion of her mana be sapped away, and bound to someone else... her servant. She could feel the connection even now, so the ritual had succeeded.

"Then... where is my Saber?"

She scratched the back of her head confusedly.

Then, there was a sudden explosion. Her entire home shook, and she almost fell back on her butt. The ceiling of the basement groaned, and dust trickled down all over the magical workshop her father had passed down to her.

She quickly turned on her heel, breaking into a sprint through the door and up a flight of rounding stone stairs, through the corridor, until the door to the living room was rising in front of her. For some reason, that wooden door she'd opened countless times felt so incredibly ominous then.

There was someone on the other side, she knew.

The command seals on the back of her palm began to itch and glow.

There was a servant on the other side.

"My servant."

She told herself, reaching out with a hand and throwing the door open.

A terribly handsome youth sat in the middle of her living room, red of eyes and black of hair. His skin was too pale to be that of a human's, and his ears were pointed in a way that made her think he was a vampire... but, he was wearing a priest's clothes...

Wasn't that heresy or something?

Well, her sweater had a white cross on it, and she was a magus... so there was no room for her to speak on that bit.

Not noticing her, he leaned back on the sofa, right hand resting over a cane with the head of a skull. She never even noticed her destroyed wall.

His very presence made a dread settle in her heart.

"You're a... servant?"

He turned to look at her. Shivers crawled up her spine. She took a step back, clenching her fists.

Was she... frightened?

His eyes seemed to widen just a tad, but his expression remained dry and unamused. He gripped his cane, and rose to his feet.

She knew from the first look.

This was her servant, dammit, why was she afraid of him?

A thin, amused smile tugged at the corners of his lips.

She took another step back, then felt an incredible frustration and annoyance. She was Rin Tohsaka. She was his master. It wouldn't do at all to be terrified by him. No, what the hell was she getting scared for?!

She had her command seals!

The strange servant leaned on his cane, still smiling in that strange way.

They both spoke at the same time.

"You're in luck, Master."

"I'm your master...?"

Rin grew confused, "Who are you?"

Contrary to the dread his presence brought, his appearance and voice were pleasing to her eye.

He made a show of raising both his hands to his sides, and offered a half-theatrical bow. The wind from the destroyed wall behind him fluttered his long dark robes. He tilted his head to the side.

"I'm actually Satan."

"Wha-?"
