Hello All,
Here is an update to let you know that development on HEROES OF CELTICA v0.9.1 is continuing and I am currently making the images for it. The early access for Alpha Slam supporters is coming soon for v0.8.0 and then I will get my head back into the content for the continuing adventures of the Scythian and his companions (whatever story path you have chosen).
I may have mentioned before, but Irish mythology is categorized into four cycles - the Mythological Cycle, the Ulster Cycle, the Fenian (or Ossian) Cycle and the Cycle of Kings. DARK DRUID is mainly concerned with the stories of the Fenian Cycle (about Finn and the Fianna) and the Mythological Cycle (about the Tuatha Dé Danann). It was always my intent that the different classes the Scythian could be would focus on one of these cycles (for example, the Champion would be retelling stories from the Ulster Cycle, as would the Bard). There's a lot of material to work with and new potential characters I am only just finding out about. If anyone wants to go down a rabbit-hole, I recently found out about the Tochmarc Ailbe, which is a story from the Ossian Cycle.
The Cycle of Kings is one body of the Irish mythology I have no plans to touch. Chronologically, it is the last of the tales and most of the stories occur after the passing of Finn and his Fianna. However, it also mixes fiction with history and records some stories about Irish kings we knew to actually exist. This includes Brian Boru, who lived around the 11th century A.D and defeated the viking invaders that plagued his land. He was the last Irish High King and his dynasty fell apart shortly after, but we can wonder about an Ireland that was united during the middle ages.
