Dear Patrons,
It's been too long since the last one of these and I've also been too slow in responding to messages and community posts. The truth is there's just not enough hours in the day to do all the things I need to do in life. Teaching has been particularly busy as my Aussie champion F1 in Schools team prepares for the international final in a couple of months.
I'm not here to post excuses, however, and I will be announcing some positive changes in the near future regarding my time and how I should be able to do a much better job serving you on Patreon.
In this update, the CR-10 Max is finally working. I needed a range of tweaks (mostly to the slicing profile) to get it to work reliably. The T rex skull needs post processing but it's still pretty awesome as is. Next up is a full size helmet designed by Marko3D. There won't be too many more prints before the review period is over. That's because in many ways this is just an upscaled version of the CR-10S Pro.
The Ender 5 has received a mains powered bed and the performance is incredible. I know Spike has one on his CR-10 'borg' and highly recommends it. Not every printer needs it but if you have one with a slow heating bed, my guide coming out on Monday should have you covered. It's now viable to quickly reach the high temps needed for the filament I have in mind.
Finally, I'm very excited to reveal my new laser cutter. After the Endurance debarkle, I figured I wouldn't be able to complete some of the projects I have in mind without some serious power. I've spent about a month madly reading up on the world of Chinese Co2 lasers. Soon I will be releasing a buyer's guide for beginners like me, with all of the things I wish I knew heading in. The Lowrider2 now has a corded trimmer router, so I guess it won't be a laser cutter anymore.
