I am out of the hospital. It was a scary few days but I think I'm going to be alright.
It looks like it was a stroke of some kind but I got lucky and it happened in one of the empty parts of the brain, which my neurologist described as being like the scaffolding, so while it was temporarily interrupting my ability to use the right side of my body, it wasn't the part of my brain that sends those signals. Once it passed, I could move normal and I don't seem to have any loss of motor function. One of the doctors also said that, while I should avoid strenuous heavy activity for a little while, I should engage in lots of fine motor activity so I don't have to wait before I can draw and write.
I have new medication and will need to make changes to my diet. It could have been a lot worse.
So I'll be getting right back to drawing tomorrow and I'll be glad to have been lucky enough that I just lost a few days.
