Hey everyone!
What’s Been Going On:
We had some craaaazy storms.
Like, more than triple the winter’s rainfall fell in less than a month. There were landslides, floods, and even some deaths, which is really sad. But we’re okay because we live on the water.
It can be pretty difficult dealing with this friggin’ weather sometimes. Me and my friends have had to hide under buildings so we don’t get totally drenched! But the good thing is it usually doesn’t last long, and then we just go straight back to playing like nothing happened.
Living close together on the boat in winter can be hard too. There’s not much escape if someone’s stressed. In summer it’s way easier because we’re all off doing stuff, swimming, exploring, and I get to use my sea scooter to cool off!
it was recently carnival season over half term here in Greece which was all to do with shrove Tuesday and pancake day so I did some learning with mum and Josh about what all that means and also enjoyed some epic pancakes!
We’ve also had a few movie nights with my friends and they were SO MUCH FUN. We even got to see some familiar faces who visited from another marina, which was awesome.
❤️ Valentines
Mum and Dad did a Valentine’s dinner for all of us. Dad cooked pork steak (it was actually really good), and Mum made chocolate strawberries.
And I also got a few Valentine’s cards!
Nah… just kidding. I got none 😅
🍟 What’s Happening Now
We got a new Ninja Air Fryer because our old one short-circuited in all the rain. The new one is so cool. Now we’ve got the SVB gas cooker PLUS the air fryer, which means way more fun meals.
I still can’t decide who’s the better cook though… Mum or Dad? It’s a serious competition.
⛵ We’re Back on Anchor!
I was just having a normal Monday at school when Mum and Dad came back from filming something and said the weather had cleared for the next two weeks and we could go sailing!
They had loads of work to do because the boat was fully set up for winter mode, I sent some pocket money by helping dad clean up the Grand and scrubbed the barnacles off the bottom of the paddleboards. But now we’re anchored in the sun in a totally calm spot with no one else around. It’s so peaceful. Just water, sky, and us.
📵 Getting Good Habits Back
Being on anchor means screen time limits are back.
There’s just way more to do out here, and it keeps our minds clearer. Even if I pretend to complain… it’s actually kind of nice.
🌊 What’s Coming Up Next Month?
Not a lot happens in Greece in March because everyone’s doing Lent. Usually we’d be getting Holly Blue ready for sailing… but we’ve already done that!
The weather looks good for at least a couple of weeks, so I guess we’re just going to keep sailing. It’s crazy being out this early in the year - but also really cool.
