Back Where We Belong… Anchored & Free 💙🦋

DESCRIPTION

After a few weeks of intermittent sails, darting between weather windows and storm-dodging in the marina… we are finally back out where we feel most us - blissfully floating on anchor, and this time… for good (well, at least for the foreseeable 😉).

There’s something almost indescribable about that first proper night back on anchor.

No halyards clinking. No shore noise. Just the gentle, rhythmic rocking of the boat and the quiet hush of the water around us.

Mornings retrun to their slow, peaceful magic…

Soft sunrise light spilling across the deck, a warm coffee in hand, the boys still sleepy, the cats stretching into the day… and everything just feels… calmer.

Life out here doesn’t rush you.

It gently invites you to slow down.

And the truth is - this feeling isn’t just emotional… it’s actually backed by science:

🌿 Being near the ocean has been shown to reduce cortisol levels (your body’s main stress hormone), helping you feel calmer and more regulated.

🌊 The sound of waves can shift your brain into a more meditative state, encouraging alpha brain waves — the same ones linked to relaxation, creativity, and clarity.

☀️ Morning natural light exposure (hello sunrise deck coffees!) helps regulate circadian rhythm, improving sleep, mood, and overall energy levels.

So when we say we feel better out here… we really do - in every sense.

And… in true Holly Blue fashion, we’ve added a slightly cheeky upgrade to our setup too 😏

We’ve now got bow and stern Reolink cams giving us a full 360° view of everything going on around us - weather rolling in, the (very rare right now!) passing boat traffic… all streamed straight into the cabin.

So if we’re inside working, editing, or just hiding from the midday heat, we can still keep a quiet eye on our little floating world without even stepping outside.

(Not that there’s much to see this time of year… which is exactly how we like it 🤫)

After a wild winter season and a few weeks of unpredictability, being back in this space feels like a deep exhale for all of us.

More freedom.

More presence.

More us.

And we’re so excited to share this next chapter of the season with you 💙

Thank you, as always, for being here - for supporting this life, this journey, and all the messy, magical moments in between.

We’re back… and it feels SO good!

- Laura, Ross & the boys 🐾⛵️
