Friends:
Over the last few months, we've had a major headache with our online courses. Retrieve (our hosting company) went out of business earlier this year with very little notice. I’ve been working with them for years and didn’t even get an email, just a weird letter from a lawyer. (I say weird because even MY lawyer couldn’t figure out what it said.)
Okay, fine. We need a new host for the courses. How hard can that be?
Turns out, it’s very hard. Our courses are long and have extras like included PDF documents. Most companies just aren’t set up for long courses with many chapters, or they couldn’t host the PDF with the courses.
It took months of research to figure out that Vimeo was the right choice. Then the courses all had to be re-uploaded and re-formatted. Links had to be updated. It was a mess. We just got it sorted out.
If you’re interested in one of the courses, they’re right here:
Minimum Timber Bench: Watch Minimum Timber Workbench Course Online | Vimeo On Demand on Vimeo
Quick Stack Workbench: Watch Quick Stack Workbench Course Online | Vimeo On Demand on Vimeo
Restoring the Vintage Metal Handplane: Watch Restoring the Vintage Metal Handplane Online | Vimeo On Demand on Vimeo
Also, since they were down for a long time, we’d like to give all the Patrons an EXCLUSIVE 50% off any of the courses (or all three). We’re really sorry for the inconvenience.
For the Minimum Timber Bench, use the code: MTB50
For the Quick Stack Bench, use the code: STK50
For the Hand Plane Restoration Course, use the code: RES50
This discount is only for Patrons and it's good for 7 days.
Finally, if you already bought a course and you need access to it on vimeo, please send me a direct message on Patron. We’ll make you an access code and get you back up in no time.
Thanks to everyone for being patient while we sorted this all out. We never expected Retrieve to go bankrupt and it’s been a scramble to get it fixed.
